You hear alot of the term "rockin' country" (2-beat or no)- in fact, thats the exact description alot of top 40 country radio stations have of their format. I don't think that the marketing wizards at these stations would choose those words if they were not pretty clearly understood by zillions of Americans, the majority of whom don't post on musicians forums. But since WE do, I say bring in a crack team of forensic social media language-deconstructing technicians working around the clock to shed some light on this thread. Oh wait- we're here! *
*"forensic" meaning someone that actually re-reads the posts in a thread before commenting on them

WTF?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? This thread rocks.
The interesting thing is, everyone has valid points and is showing impressive intellect in making their assertions. "He said but she meant but actually he..." But the bigger point is who gives a fuck? I liked it better when you were posting music that rocks.

First one is because I like to see a musician rock the Hell out of an instrument all by themselves in real time- I guess the guitar counterpart would be Tommy Emmanual or SRV doing Rude Mood. The MG vid because I'm a sucker for anything with that wild mountain man flavor. Plus it's a fun song to play live.

Someone mention Steve Earl? This is my fave SE and also some of my favorite playing on guitar and keys-Reggie Young on guitar and Matt Rollings doing the barrelhouse piano.
