Don't Book Back to Back Shows?!. . . what's that one about? Don't play two nights at the same place? Don't play two nights in a row? What?

They mean don't do a Friday/Saturday in the same area. Or even succeeding weekends. They want buffer in between shows to make sure all of your crew come instead of blowing all the attendance on the first one or second one and then having nobody come for the first one.
Not saying I agree, just explaining what I think they mean.
And I'm not selling tickets. Ever.

The practice of a venues requesting or requiring bands to not book other shows in the same market within a given period of time (usually around two weeks) is so common as to pretty much just be the standard for venues that book original bands. Lots of festivals require this too.
And yeah, I won't do the ticket thing either. The minute I see/hear anything about tickets, I turn the gig down.

I can understand that when you are dealing with original bands who can wear out their draw by playing too often, but this happend to a cover band I was in .
One club's booking agent got mad at us for not specifically promoting our one gig at his club. We were playing anywhere from 2 to 6 times a month, so we usually only promoted (on Facebook and our website) whichever gig(s) were happening that week unless it was a special event, which this gig wasn't.
The place he was booking for had recently changed owners and had a new name and renovation and even though we brought a fair amount of people in, that's about all the people that showed up, and it was the one time we got stiffed some of our guarantee.
Wasn't surprised when a few months later I drove by the place and saw that it had been sold and renamed/remolded yet again.
We had one club's booking guy give us crap for playing too many shows around the time we played his club. He was mad that we weren't doing enough to promote a specific gig at his club, but we were a cover band that played
