Just curious how everyone else does it...
We have 3 halloween gigs this year, and we were thinking of coordinating a costume for the band, rather than letting us all do our own thing. At our halloween gig last year, we had bob marley, lance armstrong, a greek god, and a doctor. Not exactly cohesive.
We were thinking that we might do the wizard of oz thing because we have a female singer -- the 4 guys could fight over toto, the scarecrow, the lion, and the tinman.
What do you guys do?

I'm so sorry because I'm no help but I just wanted to add that I have two this year and I hate every minute of it. I need to find an incredibly mellow costume.

I've seen bands do the Wizard of Oz thing, the Star Wars thing, the rock icon thing... Grant's band has done some pretty funny stuff. Maybe he'll share some pics?

Every year since 2005 we've played a promotional radio event so every year has been a coordinated theme.
You could say... we're committed.

the 3 of us will most likely not have a theme but we will all be dressed of course. Last year I played in a kilt for the trio (Ostrich Hat). VERY comfortable!
The gig the next night was with our full band (There & Back Again) I wore a big evil looking cloak. NOT as comfy!

I say you should play on the gender- n(also, I'm wholly assuming your singer is a hottie like tricky's)
Her a cheerleader, all the guys football players
Her a wench, all the guys as pirates
Her a mistress, all the guys her slaves (yeah, I'd do it- I'm a sicko like that)
Her an angel, all the guys as devils
Her in the princess leia gold bikini (I want pics if you do!) OR the white princess dress, all you guys dressed as stormtroopers or jedi's
Her as a maiden / victim, all you guys as vampires
Nurse / Doctors
Her as ghost, all you guys as ghostbusters
Nun / Priests (or little boy outfit on her and you guys dress as priests... if you are feeling courageous!) - although it takes a lot of charm or something to make dressing as a priest NOT creepy.. I did that last year and wholly regretted it!

We're doing the Addams Family. I'll be debuting my new keytar (Alesis Vortex, plugged into a Waldorf Blofeld) dressed as Uncle Fester.
