Re: You really should come here :)

Forum admin beware:
Forumatic is over priced and under supported, today 17 Dec and no support staff on the support forum for two days. I have left Formatic but am now experiencing problems retrieving my data and I feel like I am being ignored by the support team.

I am waiting for an answer from the support forum since Tuesday Dec 11, six days now .

The Formatic team promised Paying Customers that they could on leaving take their accumulated data with them. But the archive / downloader is broken, Mr Adermann was aware of this as far back as August and has still not fixed it or provided an alternative.

Would not recommend Forumatic to anyone
Just sayin'. Having said that, this thread:

https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=2154559

Was an interesting read. It may be a good host. Granted they're less than a year at it, dunno if I'd want to bank a potential huge community with a host with such a short track record (phpBB dev't aside).

Anyway, good luck Billy, you'd be a great admin.
The community here was awesome but the digs & spirit of the place has been in decline ever since it became a business venture rather than a simple collective and this latest gong show really brought the chickens home to roost.

So long and thanks for all the fish, love izzy.

Re: You really should come here :)

yeah I just joined as well. It is going to be the best place for all the HC refugees to go to. The only thing I dont like is that Billy implemented a non pron policy, i was hoping to not only contribute to musical and gear related conversations but I wanted to be able to rub quick ones out at my desk at work there too.

Meh. I signed up. But really everyone is already over at theopenjam.net. IMO there wasn't e need to make a new forum.

No offense meant to Billy. I just don't see splitting up the group as a good thing.

madrigal - no offense taken. My intention was not to split up the crowd but just to provide more options.

I am a member at the open jam myself as well as the Marshall Forum, Rig Talk, SG forum and many other music forums. Forum membership is free not mutually exclusive.   I intend to continue to hang out in all these places for different reasons, including the OJ.

To all:  We have our own domain now:  http:http://www.guitarampboard.com

Check it out and support all of those trying to give the community more options.  Including Isaac and the good folks at OJ!

theopenjam seems cool enough for me. Works like HCAF should work. And as long as you stick to the "moderated" forums, it's SFW.

Sorry about all your posts greg!

I think people will get used to it. I think most peopel are just having their usual "fun". Things are already "normal" in charveldan's thread, ha-ha.

There's also new people to meet and be friends with too! I've been in other forums (rush Midnight) that have come and gone. Sad to see them go....but life goes on, new chapters open.

DWXJFER (or whatever) was talking about heirarchy and established lawls or some **bleep**....and like...who cares! I can go to about any basketball court in any city, have a good pickup game and a good time. It's a common interest. Forums are kinda like that. Just get in, introduce yourself and get involved. Things will work out.
