Re: We're all at guitarampboard

@ Cavitation, there does not seem to be a quote or edit function on the mobile format.. And Ricky Booby was the one who started 2 threads about me. Who else?. The first one, because apparently I kinda mocked his lover/buddy Kc Kitty Chief.. Which ,like the thread KC just started awhile ago referring to how many posts in an hour. It just offers nothing but complaining or insults. And I find it funny to give back to those who are the constant drama seekers and big mouths, because they usually can't handle it all. And it turned out that they couldn't. Which is why R.B started a second thread about me with some lame story cause I got the best of him in that first thread, and also basically no one went along with his attempt at trolling me..lol. I think they deleted the 2nd tho.. he failed miserably in that one too. Like you, many times i just avoid that stupidity, but sometimes i get in my fun, because I can pretty much get under anybody's soon until steam is coming from their ears, but i keep it few and far between. I don't have the time or energy to continue those stupid arguments for longer than a few minutes typically. And some of those guys will go on for days.. Yeah, no thanks. I have a life to live.. But love it or hate it, that was absolutely part of the fabric of this forum, with some of those threads reaching dozens of pages..

Anyway, this whole thing is funny on sooooo many levels. I actually disagree with the reasoning that they didn't take anyone's suggestions.. When did they ask? And 2, why would they..? I mean, I know half this forum are experts in it, or so it seems.. I can't tell you how many times someone started a sentence with "I deal with customers all day long and this is not how you treat them.." Or "I set up the internet at my work and this is not how your switch formats.." Lol.. Really? Everyone has knowledge and the know how to do this on one of the biggest forums on the internet? And/or are customer service experts, like somehow their experience relates to this forum. Excuse me while I completely doubt that. And I'm not cutting the guys who did do this a break, since it's still knackered, but it's not hard to imagine that switching a forum/websites of this size could create a lot of unforeseen problems.. Granted, they have to get it fixed and excuses aren't really gonna cut it for much longer, but i can understand their(basically Anderton) short temper when all they're hearing is every body and their mother talking about how they could have done it.better, or they've "seen" other forums make the change and no one ever had any problems. People are just talking like entitled children who haven't ever done a thing in their life. I can see why they are getting talked down to. They are being annoying and acting.like children. I would talk down to most of the complainers as well. I just figure, give it all a bit of time to make it work. I know that's been said by many, especially the admins, but I honestly don't find it that hard to do.. I can easily go a month or so of a forum getting fixed which ends up slowing the forum down for awhile. Whoever had been here for the last little bit has dealt with it easily longer than that... Hell, I'm ok if they never get it fixed either.. I've wasted enough time on forums, and I've always considered it as such. If it never gets the traffic back, then so be it, I won't miss it.

Just a few years ago when I was in the process of moving and fixing up my new house, while still staying in the old. We Eventually, since we were only sleeping there, turned off the internet and cable in the old house and I didn't have it in the new house. I went 3 months without ever even going online.. I wish I never went back on! Lol.. It's one of humanity's biggest mistakes, taking all the personal contact of people and putting it instead on phones and computer screens, and creating a ton of people being dishonest and fake cause of the anonymous nature.. But that's another story. I'm not ready to blame that on HC.... Yet. Lol

1st off...when you get a lot of complaints...there's often not that much you can do about it. This whole time...EVERYONE knew it was MF corp controlled(old times excepted). A few complaints, but as long as they could curse, post nudes (close enough) and use as a social network site at will nobody complained. Then posting got complicated and f'd up. A few complaints, but most still used it for there OWN use. I know...a lot of peopel claim they bought from MF and spent a **bleep** ton of money, but when Loop posted...how did that look? Come the f@ck on. Please **bleep**.

So they changed it real good. AND begged everyone to be patient and provide feedback. What did everyone do? Like I said...please **bleep**... stop. The facts speak for themselves. Look at it objectviely and see what really happened.

2ndly...which sites use Vb?  Which sites gearing to the future and HUGE..use Vb? If you think it's just HC and MF in Unholy Matrimony with Google....you are a ghatdamm liar. Busniness everywhere are going with Windows, Cloud and google...so cut the **sh!tt**.

jlb..we agree on at least one thing..the site CAN work. Now whether  "the masses" turn up and "Save" the site is what we disagree on. I say take your facebook **sh!tt** and go on. I'll probably see you on the other side too! But this site still offers a LARGE community and valuable music resources that were ALWAYS bigger than HCAF or any other single forum.

Ever prune a bush or tree? It's often painful to do...but what happens? Yes...new life sprouts bigger and better than ever. Sounds corny...but if it's true then it's true. I'm sure we agree that time is the ultimate determiner huh? Let it roll...and have good will no matter what you do.

Again, If you read the feedback area it's spelled out. They are all aware of the distain for the service of the forum they got from users..

VB cannot do all the things this entire site requires. Even with the switch back to VB for forums from the last HC2.0 mess, it was nothing but headaches for those years. They had mass exoduses before and expected them again. They also expect once out of beta, many will return. We'll just have to see.

For users that love VB, they have that and many other forum options like it to hang their hat.

I'm just reiterating details I've read or feedback I had participated.

Aircraft is boarding soon. Might see yas later after I check in.

Seeing all the big sites that use Vbulletin without issues I personally just find that hard to believe.  Look how big HC use to be (plus it had 10 times more members then) and it worked pretty good all the time.  They seemed to have way more content back then also.  I personally don't know if it's a Vbulletin issue or a IT staff issue.  That's not for me to say.

I personally do think this can work with some major tweaks and advertising clean up.  Wether or not the masses will return I can't say.  This place use to be super fun and informative.  I personally would love to see it that way again but at this point it's hard to imagine.

I can only reply based on what I've read at the feedback area. Couple guys here are also right. Most of the other areas members are hangin in there. Many more are just happy the site works!!

From what they said, VB could not support all function and future function of this site. I'll take a guess and suggest the same co is doing their retail site. layout is similar. I know a lot of sites designed around the center body L/R side background imagery. Not so many forums though. I guess its there for people not on WS monitors.

Like i said it doesn't matter much since the plugin I'm using for Chrome lets me customize the views. Same for other sites too. I like that idea.

Now If I can get UPS to deliver our materials needed for the seminars tomorrow, I'd be a happier camper. Was supposed to be here two days ago.

For now, HC is not as much a pressing issue as UPS handling our stuff has became!

Like any human endeavor, there is both great good and bad with this modern media. It does take away from our human interaction, and I see a lot of dysfunction now, let alone in the future, as it gets more invasive and pervasive. Imagine being "chipped" into the net?

And I am not sure why DJXSFERYEO/Ricky Bobby/Whoever gest such intense joy from being a random, anonymous internet toughguy @sshole. I do get the feeling he's probably a good dude IRL, he just buys into his online persona. Why waste the time? There's other, more productive things to waste time on, ha-ha.

But anyway, my point in responding was to emphasize the GOOD things about modern technology/internet. It should be an asset and assistant in our daily life, not change our personality and interactions. Just lik ebeing on the street, you have to ignore or avoid the trashy and dangerous. It's gonna be there....a big filter and thick skin is a neccessity! There's too much to learn and enjoy to give it ALL up.

I did indeed. And looking forward to continued good people and good times.

I just so happen to believe THIS site will also provide good times and people as well as be just as much a valuable resource for music and gear as it has always been (which for me has been a lot).

I think that's what DWXJFER is upset about.

If you are talking about Just the Amp forum....you could be right, though it's yet to be determined, imho. But what about gear classifieds, reviews, tips, and other helpful resources, like the recent vocals editing collumn.  Do you even get the Harmony Central newsletter?

I think that's what many lost sight of; that Harmony Central was ALWAYS more than just the amp forum. And no disrespectintended (see my 1st post on theother site)....but Billy's site would not be able to sustain so much data and traffic.
