That's pretty much my take at this point, as well. Fortunately, I've had a chance to take the day off work and played some guitar -- at least until the wife wasn't happy. 
I used to be into Christian metal/thrash, too, and was having fun listening to some old Sacrament and may have to learn this one for fun this weekend:
