Craig,
Good luck to you and the powers that be. The reason you're catching so much flack is because we LOVED our community. Our Cheers has just turned into a Pat and Oscars. I hope you understand that this is a painful thing and the reason why everyone is female-dogging at you. Eventually the cries will be silenced and their echoes heard in other forums that give a bliep.

Been reading new threads all day long, and it has been...interesting. I almost didn't reset my password...just for lack of interest in all the -B L E E P-. This thread made me do it.
I'm sure everyone will be incredinly surprised that I disagree with them? Everyone has made good points. Especially thanks Anderton for trying to communicate. Welcome to HACF. There are numerous problems which I will take to Feedback, initially including the no word wrap and browser spellcheck not working, among other things that I may figure out or it's just broke/missing. Seena lot of camplaints about missing features...even though you asked everyone to be patient for things to come online.
It surprises me that everyone is SO B itche Y about this. Firstly, as was mentioned, we've used this resource for basically our own purposes, as if we ourselves created and paid for it. Being a well-liked forum member doesn't pay any bills. Many forum member admitted they barely play guitar, and not very often interested in even talking about amps, let alone use the enitre website content and ads. Some boards/fan sites can be paid for by the private host/originator or member by clever and minimal adverts
.
This one was not. SO it's been a priviledge this whole time! Thank you to whoever does that hard work, pay the bills, keep up the big site. You can start your usual **bleep** now, but let me tell you secondly:
Things change. I remember we had a Rush (band) site, er midnight express...? midnight something, I can't remember it's been years. GREAT community, truely tight like HCAF doesn't even know, or only pretends. Well we lost it and why? Money. And times just change. Yahoo changed, photobucket changed. mp3lizzard changed. All for the worse, imo. I bet your hometown has changed in 5, 10, 15 years. So we just have to face that maybe this site changed when we weren't ready. BIG DEAL!
If we really want our OWN place, that we can share piping hot fahrts, hot chicks, pumping iron, diets, cars and other cool facebook stuff, maybe veen amps and clips...then we design and PAY FOR...our own. It's very simple right? Looks like we have PLENTY of expertise. Otherwise we are just freeloaders.
I realize people will automaitcally react to ME, rather than what I am trying to say. Maybe somebody can see the validity of my opinion and boil it down to oh...2 sentences or so?
Things change. God I still miss that Rush Message board. And this will pass too.

Those Google motherfuckers...
"Senators say they fear the N.R.A. and the gun lobby. But I think that fear must be nothing compared to the fear the first graders in Sandy Hook Elementary School felt as their lives ended in a hail of bullets. The fear that those children who survived the massacre must feel every time they remember their teachers stacking them into closets and bathrooms, whispering that they loved them, so that love would be the last thing the students heard if the gunman found them."- Gabrielle Giffords

Reviews? Demos?
PGS and Gearwire have more hits on YouTube. If the new format allows for more gear demos then I'll gladly accept it.

The reason we are so b-i-t-c-h-y is because ZERO lessons were learned with the HC 2.0 fiasco. We had THE SAME COMPLAINTS with the Jiveturkey site, give or take some new ones.
a few forum members donating a couple bucks isn't what I was talking about.
But I think I know what you want/need to say. Too complicated. To expensive. Unnecessary when we have/had HCAF.
I think we've depended of HCAF more than we give credit. All for free. And thinking we can dictate to the real funders?
It seems to me if eveyone cared as much as they say...there'd be a new semi-private up right quick. Would solve it real quick! Otherwise, we really are freeloaders. Or we could try to be patient, cooperate, not have sand up the vage so far and so quickly. :idk:

To me, this forum went down hill a long time ago, because of all the childishness. You start a thread, get called stupid, moron, etc. 75% of the content is off-topic, and all the good guys left years ago. Billy, and a few others are around that have things to offer, but the majority are immature children, anymore.

Anderton,
You mention not addressing your points. How about you address ours.
1.) Why was the vBulletin system so bad that you "had to get off of it". If the performance issues were server related, why not just fix the server or put it on a new one?
2.) If the CODE was the problem (I highly doubt that, the forum worked fine...when it ran...) then why not just hire a freelance developer to fix it? Anyone worth their salt in php could have overhauled it.
3.) Why don't the users who actually are the TARGET FOR YOUR AD REVENUE TO PAY YOUR SALARY AND THE REST OF THE STAFFS SALARY have ANY say in what kind of forum we want to use? This is basic stuff...I'm an Oracle Developer, ok? I get it. But here's the thing; when I'm designing software for a client, I don't go to the and ask for their opinion and needs and what kind of format they'd like to use, and then go off and develop something completely different. You know what I do? I cater to their every desire that is physically possible. You know why? Because THEY PAY THE BILLS. Without users, you don't have traffic. Without traffic, your google analytics don't mean **bleep**. Without google analytics and traffic, no ad revenue.
I'm not blasting you, necessarily. Though I do find it incredibly strange that you are so defensive over something that you supposedly have no hand in. But fair enough, my questions are legit, and I would appreciate a response. The reason I am asking YOU These questions, is because I know you'll answer them. And I also know that you have an idea of the answers to the questions I asked, because you've been involved in the forum process from day one.
Thanks,
KCTC
