Listen to any album released pre 1980, that used marshall amps. There's a very high likelihood that you're hearing greenbacks. Otherwise, check the search function. Itworksgreathere.

inb4 CharvelDan with [COLOR="red"]THEY ARE THE BASTEST EVAR!!!! but seriously - they are my favorite speaker - you just need to have a few more of them than a lot of other speakers with higher power handling.

no, I doubt they'd appeal to me, I don't play classic rock or blooz. they're known for what they can't do, which is have a lot of headroom and produce a fullrange sound, thus they have pronounced mids and a softer rounder tone.
I'm sure they're cool, I've owned and do own a lot of Marshall 4x12's that have 75's and 80's in them, I've always liked them so I never seeked anything else.

Re: Greenbackspeakers, what are your thoughts?

Low headroom.. early breakup.. warm.. good for classic rock.. good with Marshalls?? Good for mixing with V30s or GT75's for more modern sound?

Re: Greenbackspeakers, what are your thoughts?

My experience with them have been mixed. Modded Crate V30H = pretty good Fender Blues Deluxe Re-issue = cat vommit Egnater Rebel 30 = not bad but ET65 was a lot better Mojave Plexi-45 = LOVE
Good Dealings with: LoFiBrian, 23cicero, Keebz, O'Rourke, PBomber22, cadillacman, chuckmehh, FXR, Jesse G, lank81

BlueStrat: I have to laugh when people will pay $1.69 for a bottle of Pepsi, 3 bucks for a latte or $1.39 for a frigging candy bar but a song they can own, listen to, learn and keep for years is too much at 99 cents.

If you were to mix a Greenback with another speaker, a Heritage 30 (Anniversary Editions) would be tits!

Re: Greenbackspeakers, what are your thoughts?

I like the tone of them but use Scumback 65 watt M75-LHDC's (a touch darker than a regular GB) and a 100 watt M75 which pretty much a higher powered GB. That way I can use 1X12's and / or 2X12's with my 100watt head and not blow anything up.

Love them with a Recto or TSL60. Not the brightest sounding speakers out there, but they work to get me where I want to go.

Re: Greenbackspeakers, what are your thoughts?

Pros; warm, pleasant on the ear, not too high efficiency which helps control volume in some situations, quite lively sounding and has a nice edge to the midrange/ high end when pushed a little. Cons; low wattage, not very tight, can get flabby and farty at higher gain, especially as the volumes goes up, can be a bit too midrangey I open back cabs, and can be raspy with some overdrive.
