Here’s how it went. I bought a Spec-Op, then decided I liked the Phantom Better. I was living in LA at the time So I brought it to Martin Golub (The designer of the amp) and he switched it to Phantom specs, installed a Pentode/Triode switch (which later became standard), and changed the lights to red coz I thought it looked like Darth Vader. I’m a nerd. Anyway, I moved to Austin and became friends with Roy Blankenship while he was working for Diamond in Houston. He Put a Mercury Magnetics transformer in, which made the amp totally come to life!
Works great, no issues. The original Tung Sol tubes were replaced by Roy with ARS Chinese.
