The only Avalon guitar company I know of is an offspring of George Lowden's business, they do custom-build bespoke guitars upwards of $4k. But that model number doesn't ring a bell here. So, I doubt that you have one of "those" Avalons....

I found the D100 through a quick web search. There were a few on eBay last year: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Avalon-D100-Acoustic-Guita

DS100 was from the Silver series, made in Korea for Avalon. Fantastic brand staffed by some of the best guitar-making talent on earth, based in Northern Ireland. Unfortunately they closed down recently. I think (not certain) the specific model has a solid cedar top and solid mahogany back and sides.
As Deep End pointed out, there was also a Gold series that was mostly made in the Czech Republic - some of them were also made in Ireland exclusively for Mandolin Brothers in New York.
