Guitar Center often runs sales on their Parkwood guitars. They are actually nicely made, solid wood guitars. Most people have never heard of them, but they are the "house brand" and can be had for under $400, but, a cut above the $300 and below Yamahas in that they are solid wood.
I thought we put that particular myth to rest long ago but apparently not. Parkwood is not a "house brand" of Guitar Center. It's an upscale brand of Cort. It just happens that GC had the exclusive US rights to sell Parkwood. In fact, they don't even sell Parkwood any more. They cleared them out a few years ago. Any Parkwood you find at GC will be either used or "new old stock" they haven't sold yet. That said, they are very nice guitars and well worth finding.

And, if you check GC's web site any Parkwoods they show are labeled as "clearance". One of our old HCAG members, Big Al, had one that he spoke highly of. Pretty sure, at one time, that Parkwood was in his avatar.

Evidently, I work too much and don't spend enough time on forums. Didn't know that they don't sell them anymore. So, who now has the distribution rights? Or does anyone in the USA? They are good guitar, though.
According to the Parkwood web site GC is still the only authorized US dealer:
http://www.parkwoodguitars.com/
Click on "Dealers" and then "USA".

Well, in that case, if GC has 'em on clearance this may be the time to grab one before they're sold out. Sure doesn't look like they're gonna be carrying them any longer. I couldn't even get a price off of GC's web site. If I was in the market I'd go there now.......but I'm not.
FWIW- I just got off the phone. Spoke with someone named Sean at GC in the north end of Columbus. They have no (none) Parkwoods left at all and they won't be getting any more in the future either. Dey be Gone!

You can search for "Parkwood" on the Guitar Center web site and look for "Buy In-Store" then have one shipped to your local store. The PW310M (spruce/mahogany dread) is available at the Virginia Beach, VA store; the PW510 (spruce/rosewood dread) is available at the McAllen, TX store; the PW370M (spruce/mahogany cutaway A/E dread) is available at the Ft. Myers, FL store.
