Several years ago I replaced the stock pickups in a 2006 Clapton Strat with the DG-20 system. Clapton necks are great and the stock pickups sound good, but not like a real Strat. The DG-20 has all the fedility of a vintage Strat only warmer. I resently put them in a new 2013 Clapton with equally great results.
I've used this system in my Strat on over a thousand gigs now. No issues whatsoever.
I got mine used for $89. But I would not hesitate to pay $300 for a new one.
They're not intended to make you sound like Gilmour, with the natural differences in playing technique and rigs. They are very warm, clear-sounding pickups that will enhance your own style of playing.
