Sound Quality
The first thing you need to learn is that a 6-string banjo isn't a 5-string banjo and you don't have to make it sound the same. You can however get some of that bluegrass sound out of it, as well as the old time and ragtime sound. I'm a finger picker that has played guitar for 40 years. With a tight head, the bridge positioned correctly, and the tailpiece down just above the head, this thing will hang with the best of the banjos.
Reliability/Durability
This instrument is played live several times a week, I don't have a backup. The metal parts are nickel plated, it's a workhorse.

General Comments
I have been playing for over 40 years, I own guitars by Martin, Gibson, and taylor. I own a Deering Sierra tenor banjo as well.
