Sound Quality
this tuner was designed not to add any noise when connected between your guitar and amp, and as far as i can tell, it doesn't. i never use my tuner when playing, so i can't really scrutinize this feature much.
like i said above, this tuner is no more reliable than your average model. at times i've had to work for over an hour just to get my guitar tuned properly, and even when i'm through it's off by small degrees. almost every recording i've made using this tuner has wound up off by several cents, which is unbelievably frustrating if you want to add more layers to what you've already recorded... you tune your guitar perfectly, record your song. you tune your guitar perfectly again, record a new layer, and what you add will not be in tune with what was initially recorded.
General Comments
overall, this is a fine electric tuner, but at an absolutely unjustified price. features such as octave tuning are mainly designed to help you set your guitar up, which should honestly be the job of a more accurate type of tuner anyway. these features drive the price way up without really yielding any useful results. the only way i could recommend this tuner would be if you were interested in the features and had a specific use for them in mind before buying it. if you're interested in finding a more accurate, higher quality tuner than the one you have now, you won't find it in the TU-15, nor in any LCD style tuner, regardless of how much money you spend. it seems like the only way to get real improvements in accuracy and stability is to step up to a strobe tuner.
