Sound Quality
this guitar is made out of the koa wood, and it has a very distinct sound. it is pretty balanced when played unplugged, sometimes when plugged in it sounds very bright to me. i use it in church through their PA system. i really like the sound it has, it's not martin or taylor, but i only paid $299 for it, and it's better than a lot of more expensive and sought after guitars i've played. one thing i absolutely love about this guitar is the intonation. it plays very well and hold it's intonation well. on most guitars i've played, the b string is always out of tune, especially the ones that are as affordable as this one was.
Reliability/Durability
this guiatr is pretty heavy and you get the feeling that it is pretty solid. i would never play without a backup if i didn't have to though, but i wouldn't be afraid to do so. i trust it.

General Comments
i've been playing guitar for about four years now. i own a sigma and an epiphone; both are acoustic electrics. this alvarez blows both of them out of the water, but both of those guitars were junk to begin with. (i'm a poor college student, can't afford much) i played maybe 25 guitars in the 300-600 dollar price range and i only like this one and a dean. i like the alvarez better plus the dean was more expensive. so here i am...the very PROUD owner of an alvarez ad60ck
