Before you read this you should be aware of that my practice rig at home is Fender Strat - Boss DS-2 - WH10 - CryBaby - Peavy Backstage. I've tried the pedal with better amps, although not a tube amp though.
This pedal is VERY overrated. I've heard people been talking about this volume boost and that the pedal has an incredible depth etc.. Honestly, you have no other choice but having the depth knob at 10 (maximum). Otherwise, the volume rather drops and your guitar gets lost in the music.
Even with the depth knob at 10, my GCB95 original CryBaby is louder, and it's even more aggressive. I've tried with the WH10 with other pedals and with just that pedal, with different cables - no big difference.
To sum up, the pedal is good. I mean, it has a depth knob and a switch for guitar or bass (which is really cool to use on guitar) which makes it way more versitle that an original CryBaby - however, with the effect maxed, it's not especially impressive.
Reliability/Durability:
Well, I would be kind of unfair if I gave it a bad grade on this one because it has held for at least 12 years (don't know which year it's from, the last one was made -97. It may be from the 80's). But c'mon, it's made of plastic and it's a WAHPEDAL! How stupid could Ibanez be when they made these pedals?
So, since it's at least 12 years old, it's a prove for that the pedal is hard to break. But I would definitively bring my CryBaby to the gig - I really think it could break any minute.
Ease of Use:
The pedal has one bypass switch, one switch for bass/guitar and one depth-knob. It's really easy to make the pedal sound.
Since it's vintage, I didn't get a box or a manual, but despite that, it's easy to understand.
Customer Support:
Haven't dealt with them - no opinion at all.
Overall Rating:
It's worth like 150% since its possibilities - but it's not worth like 400$. The sound is, from what I've heard of MY rig, just as a CryBaby, even less good. I play a lot of different music, mostly funk/fusion/rock, and it's good for that. Probably good for any kind of music.
Buy it if you find a good price (maybe the V2?), but don't have to high expetations.
