Not bad on noise, controlled insanity. I love using this with my t.c. chorus to get a sick pungent stench tone.It will deliver the goods, definately beats the boss bass dist and overdrives.Kills em. I use Modulus 5 with EMG pickups and the sound is soooo phat!It will squash any guitarist if you crank through an SVT like me. Thats right I prefer to let this thing distort cuz thats what its made for, gives you rich harmonics that a tube overdrive falls short. For you die hards out there pinch harmonics sream out of your bass too.
Reliability/Durability:
Mixed emotions here, its the on/off switch you've got to worry about. They quit working after so long. Lot of guys won't work on pedals cuz they say your better of just to get another, too bad they don't make this one anymore. So I bought an extra one as soon as they went out of production on the b grunge.
Ease of Use:
Easy to get a functional distortion out of this one.It crunches real well,so well I even think about canning the guitar player if I ran this this stereo with a dry mix on one side and distortion through the other. Oh well miy as well let the marshall guy try to crunch me. I love cranking this fu##er and blowin up his sh#t.The thing I like is that it lets you mix your original signal and blend the distortion to that. Almost like a blendable effects loop.

Overall Rating:
I recomend this to any bass player that playes punk, thrash, death,or even classic rock. Maybe too much distortions for some old die hard overdrive folk, but I love distortion on bass. Thank you Cliff Burton R.I.P. Please come back and slap the shit out of Kirk,Lars, and James they ruined your vision. Sue me Lars!
