Sound Quality:
GREAT distortion/fuzz.  I have rediscovered this pedal after years of it sitting on my effects shelf.  I am more of an amp overdrive kinda guy (Mesa Orange Marshall Fender all in my studio) but this thing brings metal, full bore, upon you.  Easy grunge - metal sounds.  Usable with just a humbucker equipped guitar (come on a single coil just ain't for metal) and a power amp.  Tried it thru a friends Mesa D180 180watt mono amp (no preamp) and WHOA!  If you want early Pantera, it's here.  Alice In Chains Facelift, its here.  Soundgarden Badmotofinger, its here.  SRV, Clapton, Jimi, NOPE not close at all.
Reliability/Durability:
DOD USA pedals are tanks.  Ive had many of em since 89 and no problems.
Ease of Use:
First off this is the USA made FX-69 not the fx-69b crappy chinese junk.  This is metal incarnate.  Dime sleeps inside next to the battery.  4 knobs that pound distortion thru your skull.
Customer Support:
DOD were great for myself in the 90's.  Prior to internet, these folks would answer any questions personally or would send product brochures free of charge when other competitors charged fees.
Overall Rating:
I bought this pedal when it was first released.  It is a shame that they make the fx-69b as that underscores the value of this pedal.  It also still chaffes me when I see what these are going for now and remember what I paid.  Usually the ratio is reversed :-(
