A wah is a band-pass filter. This is a low pass filter. It's not really an auto-wah.
You can get most of the sounds of the moogerfooger filter pedal with this and it's 80% smaller. I like to use it with the roland expression pedal to get synth like tones.
I don't play funk. You don't have to be into funk or hippie music to get cool sounds with it.

If you understand the concept of an envelope follower it's easy. If you're asking " what is an envelope follower? " it might take you longer than a dirt box to figure out.

This is a very rare and great sounding japanese boss pedal.
I think it is thier only dedicated low pass filter pedal. Makes my vox organ sound like a synth. More rare than the pn-2 or slow gear for that matter. About as rare as the vb-2. It should be an expensive collectors item and it isn't yet so get one now i guess.
It is my understanding that jerry garcia used this for many years. That doesn't mean anything to me but maybe it's interesting to somebody.
