It was my first stomp box that i started out with. Just like other classic distortion pedals it has that standard heavy fuzz tone that i dont care for.But you can improve the sound by doing old tricks turn down the preamp and boost the volume/overdrive channel on your amp etc....which was a pain in the ass since i ran it through my first amp a peice of crap 1x12 fender SS amp.

Overall Rating:
I play basically rock and metal and have been playing for at least 17 years and i prefer amp distortion the only pedals i would use for distortion would be either a booster box or a eq . I can do without all these cheesy fuzzboxes and other artificial dist. units.Last but not least that built in feedbacker effect is really stupid its much easier to crank up your amp and stand close to the speaker and bend a note also a fuzz/dist box alone adds plenty of feedback sustain to an overdriven amplifier.
