Sound Quality:
I use it with a squier tele and an old WEM dominator 30 watt and while on low volumes its a bit noisy when the whole thing is cranked and the amp itself is just starting to overdrive then you can really get some really nice 'round' overdrive, no harshness, not really like any bands i can think of, its a fairly unique tone but how much is to do with the pedal and the WEMS valves is hard to say but they work well together, i suppose the fact that all my gear is old and cheap probably makes it a bit garage rock sounding, although i love the sound from it, it's not always the most versatile, the sound being 'rrrrroow' rather than 'KRANNNG', if you get my meaning.
Reliability/Durability:
I've had it for about five years and had no problems, even though it's plastic it has a metal shell inside and its so basic there is'nt a lot to go wrong. A while back I was pretty stuck for cash and i thought about selling it but i just could'nt do it. Its an unheard of brand and the amount i'd get for it wouldnt justify the amount its worth to me. On the downside however is that if you dont unplug the input jack lead after use the battery automatically starts draining whether the pedal is in the on or off state. Still once you remember to do that its fine, and you can always use a 9v power supply plugged in the back if you dont want to use batteries.
Ease of Use:
This is an odd pedal, i bought for next to nothing and i've never seen another and google turns up nothing, i think it's made in taiwan. It only has 2 controls volume and drive so it could'nt be simpler, its no beauty, black with orange writing, 9v battery compartment,a 9v power supply socket at the back, looks a bit like a boss but made of toughened plastic with an inner metal shell and the standard input/output jack sockets.
Customer Support:
Hah! I can't even find out anything about this company, they probably dont exist now anyway, if anyone reads this and has any info let me know. ronthemon@yahoo.com
Overall Rating:
I'm just a hobby player although i did use this with a band, and as i cant afford to be picky I MADE it suit whatever type of music i was playing, roll down the drive for bluesy or less aggressive stuff, up a bit for indie rock and if needs be all the way up for rocking out, i dont have a lot of gear just a squier tele, a 70s WEM dominator (only 30 watts but as loud as many modern 100 watt amps ive seen), basically i bought this because it was so cheap, it cost £30 irish at the time and a boss would have cost about £100 so it was a clear choice, and i liked the way it looked slightly retro and with its dayglo orange writing on the black case it looked a bit kitch and cheapo. It at least has the option to run on mains power or battery and even some more expensive pedals dont give you the mains option and it boosts the amps own valve overdrive without squaring off the vintage tone where other pedals ive plugged in make it a bit too fizzy and harsh.
