Sound Quality:
I use this with a PRS custom 22 or '66 strat and Vox AC-15 amp. I have other effects pedals but I won't cover them here because when I'm using this one everything else is off (maybe except some delay).  This is the real 60's octave fuzz, built with the original germanium diode circuitry - I use it mainly for Hendrix (Purple Haze etc) and it is PERFECT for the solos. No added noise, just that great unique sound.  It has true bypass also.
Reliability/Durability:
Very dependable.  I don't need a backup.  All of Dave's stuff is well made (hand made in fact) from the best components.  Battery lasts a long time too.
Ease of Use:
60's octave/fuzz pedal (octave up).  Simple to use, on/off button, 2 knobs (octave & level), bright blue LED so you can easily see when it's on even under the brightest lights.  Really couldn't be easier, although it is quite sensitive to picking dynamics so it took me a few hours to get the best out of it.
Customer Support:
This might sound like exaggeration, but believe me it's not.  Dave Ulbrick is the MOST helpful and knowledgeable person I know in the music industry.  First he takes the time to really understand the tone you're looking for, then he helps you to get it.  If he doesn't make what you need, he'll tell you who does and where to find it! Dave has been supporting well known local (Australia) and touring overseas musicians for more than 20 years.
Overall Rating:
I've been playing for about 25 years.  Currently playing classic rock (two bands including one that is exclusively 60's/woodstock theme).  The Pro-Octive is a great fit.  If it were stolen I'd buy another.  The only feature it lacks is there's no AC adapter jack (my other Ulbrick pedals do have this) - Dave says it's not possible because of the authentic 60's components - he would have to sacrifice sound quality which he will not do. (you can email Dave at ulbrickmusic@ozdat.com)
