I play an American Strat through a variety of Peavey solid states. Yes, Peavey. Try 'em before you knock 'em. I tried several other phasers including Boss,Ibanez, and Digitec's vaunted X-series. You can buy the others if you want more knobs. Get this if you want more sound and tone. Quiet as a mouse, even with flo.lights.
Reliability/Durability:
It's a tank. A throwback to the days when everything wasn't made of plastic. Letterman could probably throw this off his 5 story building and have it work afterwards. Backup? What could possibly back this up?
Ease of Use:
Plug it in. Turn it on. Adjust knob to taste. This is a dream pedal for those of us more interested in playing than programming. Only problem is that the AC adapter chain plug doesn't easily fit in the pedal jack, which is awkwardly located next to the input jack.

I bought this for use with a funk/r&b/motown band, but it'll fly for about anything. My favorite thing? That wonderful classic swirling sound. You can spend lots more money without getting any more usable sound. If it were lost or stolen I'd run, not walk, to get another. That's after I track down who took it and use it to go postal on their noggin.

Well what can i say , i use a fender strat with a frontman 25amp(i have a low budget) i also own a BOSS blues driver(witch gives me that warm vintage tube amp sound) a BOSS delay and a Jimi Hendrix wah. the MXR phase 90 fits very nice with the rest, the sound i can get with this baby and my blues driver is totally SILLY!!! this is the best dam phaser i ever heard you can emulate EVH sounds or radiohead, pink floyd,Rush all kinds of stuff , the sound has helped me shape a tone that sounds great. This phaser is great for soloing , defenitly for tapping solos its just brings out that warm glissing sound that just kicks ass ,i first used it with my drummer who didnt know what a phaser was and i was screaming nonsense words really loud because the sound was fantastic very clean and warm not noisly at all!! i played for hours with this thing its worth the 76 bucks i payed for it!!!! if you like classic 70s rock floyd, early VH or even raidohead GET THIS PEDAL TODAY!!!!!!!!!
Reliability/Durability:
If a moose trampled over this pedal it woud still work perfect. i am use to pressing on the boss pedals witch takes barley any strenth . You do have to press down a little hard to switch it on. If broke, stolen or eaten by a massive cow i would go out in 5 seconds and buy a brand new one
Ease of Use:
If you think this pedal is hard to use with out fiddling with the pod inside you are a very stupid person. Simple to use one knob thats it.
Customer Support:
it just came in a box that said Jim Dunlop. I never delt with Dunlop support nothing has broke on me so i wouldent know but by the looks of it i dont think the customer support dunlop provides is bad
Overall Rating:
What more can i say , if your looking for a good simple phaser then get this bad boy , Read my above ratings! MXR Phase 90 Kicks ASS in my book.
