Price:

Features:
Bought one of the first ones around 1984. Excellent blues and jazz feel, also superb with acoustic guitar in clean channel with presence module! It's a two channel beauty.
Sound Quality:
Les Paul, Strat and acoustics.A little noisy with the 6+db module but it easily masks with volume, real dirty!
Reliability/Durability:
Play it at home mostly ,only had to replace tubes
Ease of Use:
Customer Support:
Never used them, says something.
Overall Rating:
As high quality as they come, ranks with all the "biggies" in a small package. Has it's own unigue tones, yet, it can mimmic anything via that excellent EQ section. SORRY THEY DON'T MAKE 'EM ANYMORE!!

I think mines an 87. Two channels with their own gain and vol. treb. mid. bass rev. are the rest of the controls. I wish it had seperate controls for each channel. It has an effects loop that works ok but it would be better with a pot to set the amount sent through. The changable preamps make this amp great, their are alot of them but can be hard to find and rather exspensive. Im ranking this 10 because of the preamp feature.
Sound Quality:
I play lp's, strats, washburn j6, an old sg jr, and a few home made jobs to. nick greer, lovepedal, keeley, mmfx, and a home made wah for effects. You can get this amp to sound as good if not better than any other amp you could put it up against. with the right preamps you can get great clean and distorted tone evan without effects. best sounding reverb i have heard. i have used this head with alot of different speaker setups and has worked well with all except a 4x10 crate cab. the best was a toss up between a sonic 4x12 and a weber 15" california in a closed back cab. The preamp is what makes this amp in my opinion for the builder friendly check out diyguitars.com for schematics to build them. I have been using thd yellow jackets to run it class a and 30 watts through 2 celestion greenbacks with a a-b-y switch and a mesa dc2 the past few months and its a perfect match.
Reliability/Durability:
3 years in my possesion and its been ran pretty hard at times with no problem but it can get pretty hot (point a fan at it). its an 87 or 81 cant tell the wrighting inside is kinda sloppy. works great for its age and looks to have no repairs done.
Ease of Use:
Customer Support:
they quit making them and claim to know nothing about them
Overall Rating:
i would like to find a 100 watt one but i have heard that this one is more reliable and sounds better than the 100watt. I personally dont know. If you can find one buy it if this one shells out i will hunt one down. i dont think i can find somthing that can fill its huge shoes

Purchased this amp new in either 87' or 88', it been awhile. Still the most versatile amp I've owned by far. covers my fro jazz/fusion to blues to metal and back. Either channel can be set up to cover a lot of ground tonally. THe 60w is plently loud unless your playing venues that would require PA systems anyways. Outside of Seymour's genius in developing the switchable tube system, the greatest feature on these amp is the EQ. Active +/- pots make this thee amp. Everyone else's EQ sound bland in comparision. Reverb is very good for spring tank. I have never wanted for anything more than what this amp provides.
Sound Quality:
I play strats, teles, LP's and PRS' all with a wide range of Duncan pickups or stock, they all sound great. Clean can go from boutique to vintage fender and back. OD channel can be anything depending on the tube used and the setting. the hybrid module gives me great marshall plexi or jcm800 sounds, also covers high out put boogie tones as well. hi-gain & HG +6 mod's provide smoother, sweeter tones. Presence tube on the clean channel is pure heaven and classic in the clean channel is warm and stonesy yummy. I have many different tube modules, that may help my range of sounds. The 60w and 100w version do sound different, & I believe the 60w sounds the best. very few left out there.
Reliability/Durability:
My has not been a road amp. This has only traveled from studio to studio and notmuch in the last 10-years. I've had no issues it. You are on your on fixing them at this point though. I still have all the original tubes playing in mine.
Ease of Use:
Customer Support:
SD is wonderful to work with in general, but never needed them for the amp.
Overall Rating:
For 15 years this is the amp by which I have judged all others. I still can't figure out why amp manufacturers are running similiar EQ set ups in their amp. Boogie has made huge progress in multi-tone amp versitility in the last ten years, but I see no others out there coming closer.

I bought my 60 Watt Convertible new around 1986. The channel switching is smooth and tone is incredible. I play mostly through the clean channel but love the crunch of the OD channel when necessary. The reverb is the best I've ever had. The overall tone of the amp is warm and crisp. I use the slave feature to drive a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe that I also use on stage (I keep the tone settings on the Fender fairly flat and let the Duncan set the overall tone). Excellent results. The effects loop is ideal. There is no signal degradation/loss. I run my volume/wah through it and I have complete control of the output signal. The amp has more power than I ever use and rarely have the gain set beyond 5 or master higher than 6 or 7. I haven't had to change the tubes yet. It came stock with Groove Tubes.
Sound Quality:
I have used a varity of pick-ups. My main guitars are G&L ASAT's equiped with G&L P90 style pickups. I also run my Strat throughit wichis equiped with EMG's. I play mainly Blues/Rock/Funk stuff and the tone of the amp is ideal. I get all of the feedback I need and it is sweet when I dial it in. The OD channel is nice but a little too dirty for me though. But that's only because I like clean power.
Reliability/Durability:
I have only recently run into a problem with it. The output power has begun to fluctuate and distort. The amp is currently in the hospital for diagnosis. I did however, blow the original speaker a short time after I first bought it. I replaced it with a vintage celestian and have had no problems since (couldn't figure that one out?). Other than that I have had nothing but reliable service from this baby and it has travelled many a rough and bumpy mile.
Ease of Use:
Customer Support:
I've never had to deal with them. Couldn't really comment.
Overall Rating:
I've been playing 25 years and I've used Fender Twin Reverbs, Marshalls, Roland JC 120's, Traynors and Boogies. This one has been the best. If it was lost or stolen I would definitely look for another one.

by the looks of the yellowed manual that came with it, I'd say around "84". the two channels with seperate volumes and drives, along with the foot pedal and the four moduals that came with it makes this amp very versatile, It has the hi-gain, hi-gain+6, classic, and presence, interchangable modules. It has an effects loop, slave drive, 4&8ohm line outs, has spring reverb that sounds the best., the 60 watts is way more than enough, you can crank this amp and it just keeps gettin better. over my 25 years I have not found a better amp. it has the stock EL-34s power tubes from Groove Tubes. This amp is in Mint condition.
Sound Quality:
this sounds like between Marshal and Mesa Booge, Its all there. It has the original Seymore Duncan 12" speaker.
Reliability/Durability:
I've only had it for 6 months, from the reports, I feel confident about this amp. Its built like a tank.
Ease of Use:
Customer Support:
Not much, but they will help as much as they can.
Overall Rating:
Ive been playing for 25years. I would buy any I could find, of course I also would sell it for the right price.
