Ease of Use:

terrific after cleaning pots n stuff.... favorite artist sound? sounds very psychedelic. helios creed or hendrix
Reliability/Durability:
since its obviously wqeithstood 25+ years of abuse, I think its burned in. I cleaned the pots and the case, and that's it. It is entirely rebuildable, so there's no reason it can't be fixed if broken. I predict a 10 on reliability.
Ease of Use:
sounds great. had flanging but no true phasar
Customer Support:
roland rocks
Overall Rating:
I've been trying it thru a rickenbacker tr-75 amp and telecaster guitar, with a big muff i just got too. sounds very vintage, if you're into that, which I am 1/2 the time. Can't wait to try it on my Roland Juno synth. Also, the box is a great work of industrial art.

The phase sounds are cool and musical sounding. It has a wide range of phase sounds plus an internal trim pot to customize the unit! Make sure you mark where the original trim pot setting befor you fool with it though! There is a little noise when not playing, but not a whole lot! I usually have both knobs set at around 4. I like to use it with an overdrive after the phase. Works well with both humbuckers and single coil pick-ups.
Reliability/Durability:
This is a vintage unit and is still working great. I am not afraid to use it on a gig. I have and I will again!
Ease of Use:
Two knobs. One for rate and the other for resonence
Customer Support:
Overall Rating:
I play rock covers and originals. I like this pedal and am glad that I have it. It's fun to use and has a great musical phase sound. One thing I like about it is that it is housed in a box about two sizes bigger than say a boss or DOD pedal. This is great for gigs because you can see it real easy! (sounds strange but true) One thing I don't really like about it though is that it takes TWO nine volt batteries! Hey what's the deal with this! Overall it's a great sounding vintage, collectable analog phase shift!

I play a Fender Nashville Deluxe Telecaster with a cheap KMD solid state amp. (Soon to be replaced). The phaser always sounds pretty good. There is a slight whisper of the phaser when I'm not playing anything, but you hardly hear it unless you're listening for it, and hey, it's analog.
Reliability/Durability:
I've had it a year and half and had no problems. Of course, it was made in the early 70's, and it's still going, so I don't anticipate any. Batteries last forever, but there's no AC jack.
Ease of Use:
Big brown box. It has 2 knobs - one to control rate and the other to control resonance. It has a pretty robust phase and good sound, on a clean or overdriven channel. I like it with rate on 1 and resonance on 10.
Customer Support:
I called Roland to try and find out exactly what year it was manufactured, and they had no idea they ever made it.
Overall Rating:
Man, I love this little pedal. I've seen "vintage" shops selling it for $150-$180 and I found it used at a small guitar shop for $50. It sounds great, works well, and is big brown and ugly. Best of all, it's analog, so it doesn't change your signal into 1's and 0's.
