I have been playing a LONG time and have many guitars and amps of all types... I found the pedal to be very compatible with all guitars and amps... Mostly I used a Vibratone Guitar with a lowgain Lawrence humbucker and a Solid State Peavey Revolution Stereo amp with this pedal. This pedal is something a little different in the way of distortion pedals. 1st, IT'S QUIET!!! It doesn't compress the signal much if at all, thus it doesn't produce a "saturated" overdrive type sound. Turn up it's gain setting and you get more Fuzzy/Buzzy sound than Sustain. But even at it's highest settings the overtones produced remain CLEAR and DISTINCT without becoming muddy (thus it works FABULOUSLY with delay and chorus). It's got TONS of Signal Boost available, and a WIDE BAND EQ, so a LOT of variety is possible. It produces some interesting and usefull lead tones, but REALLY shines at enhancing your rythym playing !!! Punky-Speed Metal types will LOVE this thing, But so will retro 60s players... ANYBODY who is into creative sound and/or tone enhancement should try one.
Reliability/Durability:
I've never had a DOD pedal fail.
Ease of Use:
3 knobs - Vol (lots of BOOST), Tone (wideband EQ.), and Gain (NOT sustain). Pretty simple, but not intended to mimic your favorite players or recordings. The pedal is very usefull at ALL rahges of settings for creating interesting and unique sounds. But keep in mind, this is NOT the pedal you want to buy to sound like Stevie Ray, or Stevie Vai, or Little Stevie Van Zandt.
Customer Support:
DOD builds their pedals with decent components and has a good rep. I have no personal experience with them.
Overall Rating:
I think anyone into creative sounds might find this pedal usefull-indespencable. It does things that nothing else -I- know of can do. A word about "TONESUCKING" ... If you want PURE tones, don't use FX pedals. If you're plugging into pedals, DON'T COMPLAIN about them doing what they were MADE to do.

I use my singer's pedal

Sound Quality:
I primarily play punk rock. My favorite artists include Johnny Thunders, Dead Kennedys, Black Flag, The Clash, The Ramones, The Misfits, Social Distortion, Adolescents, etc. I also like The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Jimi Hendrix, etc. It has a very good, yet sloppy, sound to it. My main guitar is an Epiphone Dot Studio (a.k.a. Feedback Factory), and I run that into a 65 watt 1x12 Crate solid-state amp, this pedal seems to agree with what I have going on. A good tire-in-the-face to your audience. Some people may not like it, but for what I play, it's great.
Reliability/Durability:
Well since I don't own it, and am just using my friend's (singer) pedal, I'd say I'd trade in my Boss DS-1 for it.
Ease of Use:
It's pretty easy. Plug in your guitar (or other pedals), three knobs, and a footswitch to turn in on or off.
Customer Support:
Never dealt with them.
Overall Rating:
Like I said, for punk rock, it's great. I don't really play metal or any of that stuff. I'm just straight-up simple stuff, with really cool guitar solos. It's got the job done for me at shows and recording. So if I had to leave you with something, I'd say go for it.

7-string>>volume pedal>>pitch shifter>>octave>>bass synth wah>>ns-2>>compressor>>hot rod distrotion>>supra distortion>>multi chorus>>phaser>>flanger>>(ns-2)>>delay>>delay>>amp w/ reverb This is a great addition to an already wacky rig. It's a bit squealy which is great.
Reliability/Durability:
Just got it, so I don't really know.
Ease of Use:
I already run a digitech Hot Rod distortion, but I needed a boost. I picked this up off ebay cheap so now I have the option of heavy, low-end distorion (hot rod) or a warm breakup. If I use both, I get a great nasty squealy tone, great for wild lead parts. Easy to use.

Many peaple have described our music as many things. Mainly, we're heavy rock with ambient melodic overtones. www.de-fi.net

Along with my Crate GX30 amp and cheap guitar, it sounds great. The overdive that is standard on my amp is nothing compaired to the FX55, and is alot better than this one Rogue distotion peddle I had (sold it for $5, good deal, well I got it for free and that is what it was worth). I usually have the gain all the way up becuase I keep my amp on a low level. But when I turn it up more it really crunches. A great peddle.
Reliability/Durability:
Innocent untill proven guilty, no problems. i thing it comewith a life time warnty, even because of damage. But damage isn't likly, it's made pretty strong out of metel.
Ease of Use:
Isn't hard to work, you push the big button on top to get it going, it's easy to get good sounds out of, nothing to complain about.

Overall Rating:
I play anything from classic rock to punk to metal to just good music and my DOD had nevel let me down with the sound I wanted. It's a great value and will never break.

I have a lot of cheap equipment. A peavey 158 transtube, and a cheap peavey guitar. I didn't expect a lot when I got it, i just wanted a loud distortion pedal. And for $30 I got my moneys worth. I didn't like all the feedback, thats partially from my guitar, but it was horrible. Over all i'm glad I got the pedal, but i should have sprung fo the Boss.
Reliability/Durability:
The pedal it self is very sturdy. It has never broken in the 3 years i've had it, but it seems like I am always replacing the 9v, yea i should get an ac adapter, but i should be able to rely on the 9v and i can't.
Ease of Use:
It is very simple. I mean three knobs, how hard can it be?
Customer Support:
Overall Rating:
I've been playing for 6 years and i'm glad i have it, but i wouldn't pay more than $10 for it again.
