It sounds in very oldschool style, clean channel sounds like from the Isaac Heyes's shaft or Barry White (very 70s disco style) and with distorion like Hendrix. The sound it's great very common to Vox wah's. Disadvantage is that there is no bypass and effect is still on, even the pedal is in off positionis it integrates to colour of your guitar sound so you will need a bypass switch with it otherwise you will get cut of high tones on guitar.
Reliability/Durability:
i got it in my second effect's loop all the time, it's working very good alone but not with other effects becouse absence of bypass in it.
Ease of Use:
Simple, you can find switch High/Mid/Low which switches the tones of wah from low to very high. Second thing is a controller of how deep will the wah effect will be after you start moving the pedal to the bottom. That's all. very easy.

This pedal is the best when you play funky music or funk rock. It sounds fantastic in it!!!!

As a wah effect I have found it not very usable due to the limited width of the wah filter. My Thomas organ crybaby is superior. It is a very cool preset filter. I use it to add color to my tone from time to time. The three position switch, pedal and width control can be manipulated for some pretty cool sounds. Think Tom Scholtz/Boston "ish" stuff.
Reliability/Durability:
After the nuclear holocaust, there will be cockroaches, Keith Richards, and this pedal!
Ease of Use:
It is very easy to use pedal.
Customer Support:
I have never needed support for any boss product I have owned.
Overall Rating:
I have been playing hard rock/metal for 30yrs. I use Gibson, Ibanez, Jackson, Fender, and Godin guitars thru an egnater ie4, G-force, marshall rig. I also use a 50w jcm 800 and this thing just sounds cool through whatever I am playing. If it were lost/stolen/broken I probably would not replace it as they are not too common these days. But, I would miss it!

well the good is that it is very quiet when compared to a cry baby. Probably why the range on the pedal is a little short. The 3 position switch is for selecting ranges yet each range is a little too short for me. I wonder why Boss didn't make this pedal capable of longer sweep ranges. I suppose this pedal is great for disco and stuff but Hendrix fans are going to be bummed. I hear there is a mod that can be done to widen the sweep but i would be afraid to modify this clean, original and now vintage piece of music history.
Reliability/Durability:
works great even after 20 years. Never had a problem.
Ease of Use:
a switch, a knob, a pedal, an indicator light, ac adapter

At the moment I am using an Ibanez guitar through the wah into a TSL 100 Marshall. No other effects necessary! There is a slight "pop" upon activating the pedal but other than that it is virtually noiseless. The effect is ok but it would be alot better if the high/mid/low switch was eliminated making the wah effect apply to all frequencies all the time. I can't understand the thought process behind this switch. What's the point? When soloing it is likely that you will use pretty much the full spectrum of frequencies. The switch ultimately makes you play within a certain frequency range to get the best effect. Not particularly logical. Also, compared to other wah pedals the effect is not as bassy or toppy in the pedal's travel.
Reliability/Durability:
I've owned this pedal since 1986 and have never had a problem with it. In it's day it was good but other makers are now coming out with some really good products at affordable prices which make this pedal look antiquated. I have never had a backup as I figure I can get by at a gig without one if necessary.
Ease of Use:
Pretty straight forward, there is a high/mid/low switch which influences the wah effect at certain frequencies. The sound I get from it is fair compared to many other wah pedals on the market now.
Customer Support:
Never dealt with them so cannot comment.
Overall Rating:
Compared to other wah pedals on the market I wouldn't consider this to be anything outstanding. I generally play alternative hard rock and use the wah only for solos not rhythm. I have been playing for 23 years and have three Marshall heads, a JCM 800 50 watter, SL-X 900 100watter and the TSL100 together with various quads and guitars. If it was stolen I think I would look at buying a Vox pedal. The best thing about it is its simplicity although all wah pedals are pretty simple! The worst aspects of it are the three way switch and its limiting range.

Little bit nosy in a distortion setting (Like almost every wah-pedal) Very good sound possibilities.
Reliability/Durability:
Never had problems, but cannot find a good adapter(3V), uses 2 1.5 big batteries wich last long.
Ease of Use:
very simple, One knob for width, three positions for low, middle, high, and of couse the footstep with on/off possibility
Customer Support:
Never dealt with it
Overall Rating:
I play Rock/blues influenced music for 35 years, used all kind of amps and gear. If it was lost I would not buy another one, it is a good Wah, but I like my Morley more. I wish it had a longer "way" I have a picture of it If you like.
