Little bit noisy here.  The tracking is pretty good and the noise level is controllable -- mess with the mix.  Think Dr. Octavia from Black label Society.  Seems to track better with humbuckers.
Reliability/Durability:
As dependable as other DOD pedals.  This isn't a slam, I haven't had a problem out of any DOD pedal that was made in the USA.  When purchased, the pots were scratchy.  No problem!  Take off the battery door and viola! you can clean the pots from there without full pedal disassembly.
Ease of Use:
Pretty simple.  Octave volume, direct volume and a tone control.
Customer Support:
DOD was great back in the day.  I used to receive product brochures for free from them in my youth (predating the net and ebay)
Overall Rating:
This pedal is good for sound fx or for adding some low end to your tone.  I like it because it sounds synth-like when used with a envelope filter in front.  Still, it doesn't quite sound as good as other octave units I've tried/owned.  Purchased for a DOD pedalboard from the 80's.  Made in USA!

Excellent. I tried this pedal side-by-side with a boss oc-2. The Octoplus was overall a better sounding octave. The boss pedal sounds more like an organ and a bit more mechanical. The Octoplus sounds smooth.
Reliability/Durability:
Ease of Use:
Very easy to use. Be sure to use neck pick-up or lower your tone for best results. Don't try playing chords either.

This may be the best DOD FX series pedal. Most of them are horrible. This one is worth owning.

so bad it's good. the tracking is so present it's insane. I like to just crank the octave, add some distortion and sound like shit. great for sludgy riffs that have to sound extra bad. badbadbad. i love it!
Reliability/Durability:
dod pedals are notorious for their reliability issues. especially the switches. treat them well and they should hold up for a long time though
Ease of Use:
easy enough. been said before

great pedal to play around with. some of these old dods are just gems(fx90 fx51). some are really bad. this one is really bad, so ridiculously bad it's great fun!!

I use a les paul sonex 180. Octoplus, boogie v-twin, gonkulator and dd3. Not noisy at all through my set up.  The octave sound could be louder, But all I need is one octave.  Using it through various amps.
Reliability/Durability:
Haven't gigd long enuf to rate
Ease of Use:
Three knobs, one pedal, how hard can it be??? no need to read manual.
Customer Support:
Haven't had it fixed since I got it
Overall Rating:
I play metal and alternative rock.  This is a very essential pedal in my pedal board. I wouldn't gig without it.  It takes the cake amone octaves because it has a tone control which is very useful.  Like most DOD pedals I hate the pedal switch.

I use a Richwood Telecaster, Keiper Les Paul and a Marshall amp (75 Reverb), and place the effect in my effectloop. When on, it does the octave-thing, but no quite loud. The effect only works to a severel tone hight, I guess it quites when I'm playing an E on 12 on high E string. When the effect is off you can still hear a little bit of octave sounds, very annoying, especcialy when playing with earphones. I don't really like the sound + it's noisy + it's not completely off = a 4
Reliability/Durability:
Allways working, but can't use it on a gig because on it's own it's worthless. I now use two octavers at the same time. The DOD and a Behringer Ultra Octaver. Both using alone is crap, but together they make very weird (this time: nice!) sounds. Especially nice when playing a solo without any backing guitar or bass.
Ease of Use:
Three knobs, very easy to use. Works on battery or 9 volt. Solid on/off switch, must be able to survive for many years. Negative: The LED is in 'off-mode' still burning, just a bit less light then when the octaver is 'on'.
Customer Support:
Never dealt with them.
Overall Rating:
I play simple rock, white stripes-style. So I like octavers, it makes the solos a bit 'bigger', because I am the only guitarplayer in the band that's nice. For this price after all, it's okay, especially when using my other octaver.
