FX75-B Stereo Flanger
Review By:

Reviewer Background:
Purchased From:
Pawnshop
Price:
$20.00 USD
Features:
Sound Quality:
mmm... has a signal boost that you think could be helpful sometimes but it's not, even worst live.
Reliability/Durability:
It's tough
Ease of Use:
Needs a lot of tweaking for and acceptable flange sound
Customer Support:
Overall Rating:
Don't like how it sounds and as you can see everybody looses the battery cap because its located on a bad place and has a bad security clip, hate the power adapter input being on the left side and it's connector type. Why does it says "use a 10v adapter" when we know uses 9v??

FX75-B Stereo Flanger
Review By:

Reviewer Background:
Purchased From:
some guy
Price:
$30.00 USD
Features:
Sound Quality:
The effect is really weak. I was looking for that epic swooshing flange and did not find it in this pedal. The sound out of this pedal is hollow sounding.
Reliability/Durability:
I don't really stomp my pedals too hard but this thing does have a plastic foot switch which may not hold up all that well.
Ease of Use:
A little confusing at first to understand what "regen" and "delay" refers to with regards to a flanger, but after some exploratory tweaking it's easy to understand.
Customer Support:
Bought it used, never had a problem, except for with the patheticness of the effect. DOD shouldn't waste our time putting out pedals. I've played some of their other pedals and have been disappointed with the quality of their effects.
Overall Rating:
I was just disappointed in the power of this pedal. It hardly affects the signal. If I could go back I would spend the extra $20 on a used BF-2 or something

FX75-B Stereo Flanger

Some other reviewers have called this pedal weak, but I think they have the FX75C and aren't paying attention. I find the FX75B to be very...flangey. Sorry, I can't think of a better description. If you are familiar with "Nobody's Fault But Mine" by Led Zeppelin, it's kinda like that. Not exactly, but closer than other pedals. I don't use it all the time so when I step on a Flanger pedal, I want it to Flange, and this one sure does.
Reliability/Durability:
I've had a bunch of these and never had any problems with them. My only problem is thinking I don't want it anymore and selling it, only to miss it and buy another one. I swear as of this writing that I'm done. I'm hanging on to this one.
Ease of Use:
Four knobs (delay, speed, depth, and regen). Stereo outs. I found a sound I liked right away. Make sure you get the older FX75B and not the more recent FX75C. They are NOT ALIKE AT ALL!! The newer (green) FX75C is weak and quiet. The older (blue) FX75B is kind of overwhelming by comparison, but in a good way (to me).
Customer Support:
I do appreciate the fact that DOD has the manuals for most of their older pedals on their website. If you're looking for the manual for the FX75B you won't find it. You have to open the one that says FX72, which is the old Bass Flanger. They share a manual. If you can spare the space on your PC, download all of the manuals and keep them before DOD goes belly up and the manuals are gone.
Overall Rating:
Like I said before, it's very flangey. Good for hard rock, but also for any style you want that sound in. Just remember not to get the FX75C instead. That pedal sucks.

FX75-B Stereo Flanger
Review By:

on 12/8/06 1:00 AM
Reviewer Background:
Purchased From:
Guitar Center
Price:
Features:
Sound Quality:
Good (but not great) sound quality. Not as strong of an effect as other flangers but a decent basic flanger.
Reliability/Durability:
Pretty good, standard DOD construction. The two drawbacks are the plastic pedal switch and plastic battery door that many people lose. I've never had a problem with either but they are drawbacks never the less.
Ease of Use:
An easy to use basic flanger.
Customer Support:
Never had to deal with them.
Overall Rating:
This was the first pedal I ever owned. A lot has changed in 8 years though. It's not the strongest or most versatile flanger you will find but a pretty decent one and (in my opinion) better than the more recent DOD FX-75C. If you are looking for a great flanger, I would recommend the Boss BF-3 but this a great basic flanger for the money.
