I am a bassist using the FX75B version (the powder blue version). I LOVE the way this sounds. Yes, it's not going to sound like a more expensive flanger, but it has a voice of its own. You can dial in a chours-y effect, or have it go on full flange. It also cops the Nirvana vibe quite well, as it seems to have a metallic edge to the sound. And while some might not like the sound it produces, I think it has a very versatile sound. I have not tried the stereo aspect yet as I do not have a second amp.
Reliability/Durability:
I think it's built well. While the stomp pedal might be off-putting for some I think it's actually solidly built. Yes, the switch has a soft touch, but I don't see the pedal breaking anytime soon. The rest of it is solid metal and is quite weighty. However, the battery cover gets lost quite easily; when I bought mine I never had one, and I put painter's tape where the cover should be. The only thing I don't like about this pedal is that it uses up a lot of battery power, and I mean a LOT. I recommend running this thing through an A/C adapter because you will go through a lot of batteries if you are not careful.
Ease of Use:
It's 4 knobs. Can't beat that, but some of the terminology might throw people off. Sure, some of the knobs are self explanatory, such as speed or width. But I am still not sure what the delay does, other than to bend the notes in a weird way. Regen seems to be the amplitude of the flange I guess. So while it's not hard to use, it isn't that easy. Best to set it up the way you want to and leave it be. There are also 3 trim pots inside the pedal but I have not tinkered with those; I think they are fine the way they are.
Customer Support:
I've bought this used at a local music store. Never dealt with DOD.
Overall Rating:
I play a variety of music, from cheesy 80s synthpop to heavy metal to progressive rock to quasi-electronica using a Schecter C-4 (EMG-HZ pickups) or Peavey Grind (converted to fretless) to a Peavey TKO115S. While I might use the pedal all the time it's my number 1 go-to pedal in a way (beating out my wah and my distortion). I love the construction of the pedal, the unique sound, and even the odd controls, although I think having the trim pots accessible to the outside (and labeled) would not have hurt. I also wish that there was documentation about it on DOD's website, considering I got this used. That said, once you know what the pedal does, you're good to go without documentation. If it were stolen, I might try to find another FX75B although it might get replaced by a Boss BF3, but only if this were to be stolen. Right now it's not moving off my board.

It can sound really good or it can sound REALLY bad. I gave it a seven because it's easy to muck up your whole sound with this pedal, but if you use it right, it sounds great. I've never had a problem with this being noisy. When I use the flanger, I usually play it with an Ibanez shredding guitar and pretty high gain distortion...DOD Metal X. I use it to get a trippy sort of sound...on the verge of chaos.
Reliability/Durability:
Anyone who complains about DOD's breaking think that "stomp" box means you try to smash it to pieces to turn it on. True, the switch is plastic, but the rest of the pedal is really solid. I've had this for over 10 years and the switch is fine...I even still have the battery cover.
Ease of Use:
I don't usually recommend reading the manual, but unless you've experience with flangers, read it. If certain nobs aren't somewhat closely aligned, you will sound dreadfully out of tune. The manual does give some good advice on this end. After you read the manual, play with it...a lot to really understand it.
Customer Support:
I've never had to call customer support and they don't make a lot of pedals anymore. DOD doesn't have manuals for all of their discontinued pedals, but they do have it for this one on the website.
Overall Rating:
I play any number of styles. I bought this pedal when I was playing a lot of punk and metal and wanted to add a "trippier" sound. In the 10+ years since then, I've used the pedal on and off. It's not in my regular setup anymore, but I still break it out and mess around with it from time to time. I'm developing a new style that borders on chaos...like playing with a wild beast. I think the pedal will have a role in that realm. If it was stolen, lost, etc. I would probably take more time with flangers before deciding if I'd buy this again. (It's discontinued so you'd have to look for it used now.)

My amp is a Yamaha Valvstate 80. My guitar is a Jim Reed LP Tiger Top. The effect connect direct to the guitar it's ok. No noise alone. Something with other effect in the chain when all turned on. I use this effect to give 'quid plus' to distorsion and overdrive. I think it's ok to find your sound but it's difficoult to use this effect to emulate an artist. When it's on the effect works well and ignoring some 'terrible to ear' settings there are a lot of settings to remember.
Reliability/Durability:
I don't really depend on it. But I don't think it could be possible to depend on a flanger. Skill on this effects is needed to get reliability with it. I don't think it's of any use a gig with the effects without experience of use. In any case seem indistructible. Very well build. The one that I own do not have the battery cover but I've resolved the problem using adhesive tape of the same colour of the pedal effect.
Ease of Use:
Easy. 3 Knobs: Speed, Width, Regen. You have to mess them to collect your sound. The first impression is that setting the knobs nothing realable seem to appen. This because you have to skill your ear. I've no manual but I don't think is useful. Probably if it indicates some preset... Set Speed to Min, Width and Regen to Max to have the impression of a flange effects.

Overall Rating:
I play something really near postrock, noise. I think this effects gave me new possibility and I like it. I've a Zoom 5000, a Boss SD-1 and a MXR Dynacomp. Some other flager like the Boss one seems more versatile but it depend on what you want to do. This is not the flanger to buy if you do not have the idea of a flanger.

Execellent quality for a pedal I only paid $20 for. I mean it only has three knobs so there's only so much you can do with this pedal, but the sounds it does have to offer are often really spacey and tripped out which makes quite nice for crazy sounds. I love it alot.
Reliability/Durability:
I've owned three DOD's and they all broke within the year. So I'm not expecting this to hold up too long. But they are relatively cheap so I don't mind so much.
Ease of Use:
Its very easy to use and has a ton of different sounds which means it takes a minute to find the specific sound you're looking for. A lot of you seem to be having trouble getting this pedal to 'flange' or make the jet plane sound. Just turn Width and Regen all the way up and your speed down really low, and bam. Classic Flange sound.
Customer Support:
Dunno. Never tried.
Overall Rating:
I love this pedal. I like to play really crazy tripped out things along the lines of Incubus and Radiohead. This pedal has helped immensely in pointing me in the right direction tonally. I play A 69 fender mustang (highly modified), and a Schecter Diamond series through a 65 Fender Twin Reverb. I have too many other pedals to even start to list, but I'll say that out of all my effects this is one of my favorites aside from my EHX Clone Theory. If it were stolen I would replace it the next day.

Brian Moore i8 > Dunlop Crybaby > Boss Blues Driver > DOD FX75 > Line 6 DL4 > Roland Jazz Chorus or Fender Pro Reverb otherwise tin the stereo loop of my Fender Ultimate Chorus. I have no noise problems with any of my pedals or amps I use. My basement is about 90 years old and has wiring problems so my single coils buzz a bit, but I've come to terms with the situation, and it's okay. I'm not trying to emulate anyone with this pedal. Heaven forbid I defame anyone by mentioning their sound next to this cheap pedal. It provides a pleasant sound in most instances and it is good overall. Some people would not like it but I do and find many uses for it. I've had non-guitarists comment about it specifically saying how they like it. Some dislikes are that I cannot get a good flanging out of it, the level control when maxed adds a few decibels of gain, and it sounds very different from itself when switched stereo to mono. I like it with any combo of my effects, but with the wah it adds a little drive which I like and others may not. I was a little disappointed at the shop playing it and it didn't flang. The reason I wanted it was because my Ultimate Chorus has a "flanger" setting that doesn't flange so I wanted a real one because I really like flangers. Thie has some sweet underwater stuff but in my opinion it could have more depth. (depth nob only goes so far, maybe I could mod...) I will forever keep it and use it and if you ever hear me, you will hear this pedal and like it.
Reliability/Durability:
It's built almost as tough as me. (5'8", 165 lb, 32" waist) Definately reliable.
Ease of Use:
Easy to use. If you randomize the settings you can get some gross stuff out of it, but for the most part if you know what you're looking for you can dial it in well. Mine doesn't have a manual.

I currently am in the school pep band. (3-man covering 70's and such) I also work with my church worship band and lead up the youth worship band. I used this pedal for the Daytripper riff just last week because we only had one guitar playing it. I get to use it a lot, but I ave to watch out and not overuse it as would be the tendancy for someone with very few modulation pedals. I've been playing guitar for over 2 and a half years but don't let my lack of experience fool you. I don't suck. I'm a musician and I hear well (still) (Started Suzuki method violin at age 4) so I know what sounds pleasing and unpleasing. This pedal plays well. Some settings on it are taboo because of already mentioned gain and such and at highest speeds the pulsing sounds a little redundant(not back and forth but it keeps punching) If I broke/lost/stole it and it were no longer with me I would go back to the same used place, check out their flange pedals, get the cheapest one that sounds good and probably also get the newer version of this one(different pedal, but this one's discontinued) I really make wusic with this pedal. Two dislikes are that it doesn't add the lift of a real flanger (what you hear in recordings and not live) and the jet sound isn't quite matched up wide enough to flang well. Otherwise it's excellent and I like it.
