I use it mainly with Vintage Strats, and sometimes a Les Paul or 335 through either a Super Reverb, or a Modified Blues jr. It is old,but it is suprisingly quiet even at high gain settings. I always run it in front of my OCD, 70 Fuzz so when the drives are on it just adds that hint of fuzzed upper octave. This is the best sounding Octave I have heard, mainly as it's very subtle and clones all boost the volume exponentially before bluming the octave properly. It's an un-touchable pedal in my books.
Reliability/Durability:
I find it dependable, but I do repair equipment for a living as well so it's a non issue. I'm more worried using it all the time as the replacement value is insane on these.(rightfully so)
Ease of Use:
Very Easy to use, just remember as all Germanium based effects the Volume and boost are very interactive. I run the volume at 1 O'clock, and boost at about 10 O'clock. This is an Original '75.
Customer Support:
I've spoken with old factory employee's and it sounds like it was a fun company to be involved with in their prime.
Overall Rating:
This pedal is THE octave in my books, and I would never use anything but the Tycobrahe again. It's a totally different animal from any other. I would track down another and replace it if it were stolen no matter what. This one can take you from Jeff Beck to Hendrix and beyond.

I currently also own an original roger mayer octavia, an original univox superfuzz(the red one) and a prescription electronics Experience Octavia. They are all brilliant octavias!! my tycobrahe is a little different sounding - very soft and not harsh sounding in the treble range! It sounds absolutely fantastic and really bring out the best in me....it completes me :-) I¿¿m very satisfied and yes I would buy another original again if this was lost......why....because I love the aura that surrounds the old stuff! I¿¿m not saying that old stuff always sounds the best - but this one just does the job for me like no other octavia has done!!
Reliability/Durability:
no problems yet - otherwise I¿¿ll send it to the chicago iron company and let them fix it for me!
Ease of Use:
It¿¿s pretty easy to get nice sounds with this. I usually use it with almost no gain and the volume set to around 6-7. Bought this unit on ebay for way too much money - but I¿¿m a collector and pro player, so it didn¿¿t really matter. I knew I was going to buy one sooner og later....

I¿¿ve been playing guitar for about 20 years and have owned and tried a lot of octave pedals. It¿¿s a subjective thing and the Tycobrahe ended my search - this is truly the one for me! I play blues, rock and metal - and I use this pedal for a lot of my solo work and some chord work as well. I simply love it and will never part with it. This is going to the grave with me!

Used with strat / paul guitar types, works fine. Sounds better on smaller amps [?] don't know why...seems noisy at high gain settings...octave effect is okay, but not as good as a Roger Mayer Octavia.  Interacts well with fuzzes, as expected. Phasing / chorus dresses-up effect nicely. Very 'analog' in tone, not too stable, as previously stated. Sounds best with tube amps, of course of course. Unusual sounds: slide guitar > OD > OCTAVIA > PHASE 90[or tremelo] > gets a 'lazy' swirly thing going that intoxicates listener.
Reliability/Durability:
Bought broken at a flea market, graphics worn off in spots - its old. Soldered wire back on to fix it. Seems quite reliable to me. Roadworthy - sure. Backup, no - I trust it.
Ease of Use:
Easy, plug-in and play it, regular stompbox. Loveabe unstable tracking. Diddling with controls yields some sound variety. Doesn't seem too loud. 9-volt operation, eats battery  with heavy use:15-20 hours.
Customer Support:
Not around any more. Could easily be repaired.
Overall Rating:
It's pretty cool...different than any I've heard. Never seen another; doubt that it could be replaced. Sounds best on more subdued material. A lot of people ask about it.
