FT-2 Dynamic Filter

Its the sweetest wah in my set up. I use the EV-5 pedal and it just sounds so sweet, its kinda emotional. Pedal input to move the notch around. So your not stuck with just the fixed envelope filter. Hard to be emotional and intimate on a wah without sounding comical. This is not like that. The envelope is completely adjustable and easy to set up for gtr, bass and clavinet. I went DI with gtr and it didn't need the amp. Thats a good sign when using fx in a studio. Also as a filter for changing the character of an instrument, its perfect.
Reliability/Durability:
it's Boss, that stuff is meant to be forever.
Ease of Use:
Absolutely, no time at all. It works perfectly. It's three pedals in one. Very deceptive and powerful little thing! An envelope follower, a lowpass filter and a wah. Where will you go today...?
Customer Support:
Well, it's Boss, who needs service?
Overall Rating:
These things stopped being made in the 90s. People, apparently, didn't 'get it'. Got mine on eBay. It's low price high quality piece. People still don't 'get it'. If you want to see if it's worth getting, just grab one. If you don't like you will sell it. I got mine in pristine condition (owner didn't 'get it'.)

use this pedal with basses such as a 76 jazz, modulus quantum5,mm stingray though an ebs rig and sounds superb with them all.i've had mu-trons,electro harmonix and ebs filters etc but none seem to deliver bottom end and Bootsy underwater squelch like this little funk machine.once i managed to get hold of one i tracked down another on ebay just in case this one went down.
Reliability/Durability:
the things a funk tank
Ease of Use:
really easy to use.don't need a manual.so easy to dial up great results.
Customer Support:
even though this pedal has been discontinued for several years, whenever ive had to deal with roland uk they've been superb and said they would help if i ever have a problem.
Overall Rating:
if it was stolen or lost thank got i've got another.one of the best envelope filters i've owned.never understand why boss discontinued this unit.if you see one on ebay snap it up,you won't be disapointed

Running this from my iceman with EMG H4 in the bridge through my boss ME-50 into a Fender ROC-PRO. No noise from mine whatsover. The autowah effect is a little weak at certain setting but since I bought it as an adjustable wah (has an expression pedal jack) I dont mind.
Reliability/Durability:
It's a Boss. Nuff said. You could run over it kick it and still gig with it that night.
Ease of Use:
Mine came second hand so no manual but as long as you have a vague idea of auto wahs your fine, even if you dont its not hard to fiddle and find out what does what. Each knob clearly labled.
Customer Support:

Overall Rating:
Quite a good pedal for a wah. Autowah is still good but not the best option especially considering how hard they are to find. BEWARE buying this pedal. It uses a specific adaptor creator by Boss (not sure model). It will not work correctly with the newr models. The best way to use this is to power it with other pedals in a dasiy chain. Read this on the net and vaguely understand but cant really explain.

Iv'e owned a lot of auto filters since the 70's, so I'm not going to BS you.The auto filter sounds are just Ok. It's no match for an AF-9 or even the T-wah.There's not as much sensitivity, punch or range to it. It has an expression pedal jack. But whats the point?? An auto filter is an automatic Wah pedal anyway. You might as well use a real Wah pedal. But I guess Boss was trying to make this pedal more versitile. But it's redundancy is probably why they discontinued them.
Reliability/Durability:
It was sturdy while I had it.
Ease of Use:
Easy to use.Trust your ears.

In the world of auto filters, the FT-2 is in the middle of the pack. A T-wah would be a better choice,if you ask me.Don't get me wrong, the FT-2 is'nt terrible, but the others are much better.I have a lot of experience with auto filters, since I'm from that era. IMO the FT-2 is just ok. I wouldn't pay more that $75.00 for it. Eddie G.

A wah is a band-pass filter. This is a low pass filter. It's not really an auto-wah. You can get most of the sounds of the moogerfooger filter pedal with this and it's 80% smaller. I like to use it with the roland expression pedal to get synth like tones. I don't play funk. You don't have to be into funk or hippie music to get cool sounds with it.
Reliability/Durability:
Boss.
Ease of Use:
If you understand the concept of an envelope follower it's easy. If you're asking " what is an envelope follower? " it might take you longer than a dirt box to figure out.

Overall Rating:
This is a very rare and great sounding japanese boss pedal. I think it is thier only dedicated low pass filter pedal. Makes my vox organ sound like a synth. More rare than the pn-2 or slow gear for that matter. About as rare as the vb-2. It should be an expensive collectors item and it isn't yet so get one now i guess. It is my understanding that jerry garcia used this for many years. That doesn't mean anything to me but maybe it's interesting to somebody.
