Test 1: the Bender Tool with my Silverface Champ/ Telecaster/P90 Gold Top/ in my Living Room ; fuzzy, harsh, awfull sound, bad combination Test 2: the Bender Tool with my 68 JMP Plexi PA Marshall / double 12 Greenback Cab / Stratocaster /P90 Gold Top / in my Basement ; Much better (Aha, always take a good Amp), together with a slightly distorted z-vex Box of Rock it¿¿s a good Combination Test 3: the Bender Tool with my Marble Bluebird (like Tweed Deluxe), 20 W Marshall /Blue and Gold Bulldogs / Gibson 335 in my Clapton Coverband Rehearsel Room. Oh my God what a great Sound. Both Amps vol. 10-12: a big, fat, creamy Sound. Old Cream Songs and Slide Guitar sounds fantastic. I have full distortion and the Sound goes through the mix. I can hear every Note. Eventually the best sound I¿¿ve ever had ... Test 4:the Bender Tool with my Marble Bluebird /1x12 Cab Celestion H30/ Blue Bulldog / Strat in my Blues Band Rehearsel Room ; Great Sound for Dire Staits, Floyd, David Lindley Stuff. Not so good with full distortion but super with Strat Vol. Pot on 8. Test 5 : the Bender Tool with my P90 Gold Top and the Marble/Marshall Combination. What can I say : Real Great Tone, I let the Pedal on for the whole rehearsal and I get every Sound from that damn Guitar that I dreamt of. From clean to crunch to Warren Haynes like sreaming LeadSounds. When I play real Loud, I don¿¿t need no other Pedal anymore.
Reliability/Durability:
The Pedal is well build, has a Big Footwitch and I think it will last many Years
Ease of Use:
The Bender Tool is a very easy Pedal. It has a Fuzz, Volume and a Treble/Middle/Full Pot. With the TMF Pot you can blend from a Treble-Booster-like Sound over a Mid Boost to a Full and Warm Sound. A Switch on the Side is for using Active/passive Guitars....I don¿¿t need this feature. Like other Germanium Fuzz Boxes you have to use a Power Supply with completely isolated Outputs (for my Bender Tool a Burkey Flatliner Six works very well)or a battery.
Customer Support:
I have written many times to the guys at guitarsystems. They write/call back soon and are very friendly and competent.
Overall Rating:
I never give this Bender Tool to anyone. I keep it like Gollum his ring :-) If you play R¿¿n¿¿R, Hard Rock or Blues Music and you owned too much Overdrives and Fuzz Pedals over the years try Tony¿¿s Bender Tool and the search is over.....if you like....

The sound of the TBT is fantastic. I use a Fender Stratocaster CS Relic 1962 and an original Fender Deluxe reverb from 1965, just like Tony spinner for whom and with this pedal was developed. When I heared that it's based on his vintage Tonebender pedal I knew that I had to have this pedal. I bought one of the first series that were build. I use the TBT in combination with my Ibanez TS808 from 1981. I use them together when I need a long sustain. Like Tony states on his website; the TBT makes it possible to get a great Marshall sound on a clean Fender amp, giving you a lot of sound characters.
Reliability/Durability:
I think the reliability is very good. The pedal is well build and IMHO will last for many years using it on stage.
Ease of Use:
The Tony's BenderTool is easy to use. Plug and play! With the 3 big knobs for Fuzz, Volume and TMF you can dial in different sounds very easily. The only disadvantage is that the Tony's BenderTool needs a separate powersupply if not using batteries, this because of the positive ground that cannot be mixed with negative ground devices. The Tony's BenderTool is build like a tank, especially the footswitch. The green indication led cannot be overlooked on stage and indicates a low battery long before the battery goes low and needs to be replaced.
Customer Support:
I do not have experience with this. Fact is that the people at GuitarSystems are very friendly and will always help solving problems, if they would appear.
Overall Rating:
Great stuff, especially if you like old school blues and rock.
