I have a LOT of Guitars and amps available. The MD-1 works well with them all... One of it's strong points is that you can cut the controls back and use it to "Flavor" an amps natural tone and distortion characteristics... It's got PLENTY of Boost available so weak pickups (strats) aren't really a problem, just add a touch of volume, likewise you can cut the signal strength back if you have high gain shredder type humbuckers and keep things under control. It seems VERY low noise to me, even with the gain cranked it doesn't get "Hissy" like so many boxs do. Chords are well voiced and overtones are distinctive. It's got a ton of balls and plenty of edge for STRONG lead playing, very articulate and punchy with LOTS of finger sensitivity. I hooked this up with a Boss GP-20 "Amp Factory" and in conjuction with the various amp and cabinet models I could duplicate ANY sound, some took a little more tweaking than others, but I think with the right amp in front of it, this box will do any METAL sound you can imagine. It's -NOT- going to give you Blues or Crunch, it's not intended to.
Reliability/Durability:
Built like a TANK, I would not forsee any problems.
Ease of Use:
Very Easy to use, completely intuitive. Gain, Shape (+/- midrange filter) and Volume knobs. Controls are sensitive and effective. It doesn't get any simpler than this!
Customer Support:
No experience or info ???

I play all kinds of Music, Alt Country - Thrash Metal. The MD-1 opened a LOT of doors into METAL for me that other gear never came close to. (I've tried most of the popular ones). I've got the chops and the ear, NOW I've got the SOUND! If you WANT METAL this will get you THERE (not just halfway). As long as I'm playing metal music there will be one of these in my lineup. I've used an old Pro Co "RAT" for years for hard core distortion and I'll continue to use it for the Hard ROckin stuff it does so well... But it's been retired from the -METAL MUSIC- lineup.

Im running this pedal through my Music Man Luke and a Peavey valveking 2x12 usually on clean channel and it just shreads like crazy. The distortion is amazing. I get sounds like Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet For My Valentine, Killswitch Engage, and Rammstein. The effects are always sounding good!
Reliability/Durability:
I definitely depend on this pedal and i love it. Its the only distortion pedal i own.
Ease of Use:
This is a very sweet pedal for all you metal players out there. The knobs are Gain, Shape and Level. The gain is self-explanatory and the shape is basically like tone. You can have it bright or dull and it still sounds amazing. It is very easy to use, and comes with a 9v battery and a manual.

I play metal and classic rock with this pedal and it fits both tones. Ive been playing for a year. If this pedal was stolen from me, I would cry, and then bbuy another one. Its that good!
