this beast is "made on planet earth in the year 2000, genetically engineered by Clone Masters". hmm.... made by someone called 'Clone Masters'. i didn't know that... interesting. i don't think it's actually a clone of anything. it DOESN'T sound like anything i've heard before. sound: it spurts, flutters, farts, yields to full stop, goes down, twists the note(s), flutters back up again. phaser, filter, distortion. lovely. features: input, 2xoutput, 9vDC input, battery clip. 3 fottswitches as well: DISTORTED, REVERSED, EFFECTED controls: only three. "sweep depth" and "sweep rate" and then there's the "mode" switch, which sorta acts like either the notes will be "full" to their extent OR they are cut in half, quarters etc... pseudo-vibrato like. hard to explain. but the SWEEP knobs are not like on a normal envelope filter - the rate knob is especially sensitive on how it's set. it'll actually sound like an alien lifeform chirping away with their weird language, at some points, as well as being almost "random arpegiator"/"Maestro Filter Sample 'n Hold"-like. sure, it'll DO the normal Qtron-filter sweeps - but who wants that? insides: they looks VERY pro done. but it IS a pro who's made this, apperently. the guy i bought it from, mentioned that the maker has made custom pedals for nummerous famous people. super cool made. only quality parts (which is always nice). A/B'ed with a 'Lovetone Meatball': there's nothing like the AMF, the meatball doesn't even come close. simply because it has nothing to do with the same effect. if you want super controlled filter actions; go with the Meatball. but if you want something wild, crazy, obnoxious, f+cked up. get the Alien Mother Filter. go here for a picture:

- ced ps. as of this moment i've only tried it by itself - i can't wait to find out what results it yields when combined with the rest of my setup.
