VT-2 Dual Bass

I have always liked a bit of grit in the sound - seems to make an instrument stand out in the mix (think of the overladed snare drum on Mary Wells' "My Guy" on the old Motown label). This unit allows you to set two levels of grunt - so you can have a slight grunt on channel 1, increasing to a throaty roar when the second tube is included in the mix. On great feature is the "BRIGHT" switch. This doesn't simply boost the top end as in most pedals - rather, this includes the instrument's "clean" sound with the overdriven sound, so you can have a gritty tone without muddying up your attack - wonderful feature!!

I have only had this unit for 2 weeks so far, but, having examined the build quality inside and out, I can honestly say it is the best construction I have EVER seen!! I have no hesitation in wholeheartedly recommending this unit (and John's others) as the build quality is incredible. But the most important aspect is the glorious sound it produces.

The unit is fabtastically simple to use - plug in and play - very easy to dial in the amount of overdrive you want, from a "break up" sound, to a fully fledged, tubey roar - fantastic!!
