This is a great sounding guitar, leaving from Nebraska and arriving in Austin Tx, this thing was still IN TUNE,didnt think that was possible.Great full sound, just brings music to you ears. NO BUZZ!!!
Reliability/Durability:
Only had it a couple of days, but you know this guitar will be around for a long long time, longer than i will ever be.Everything on this guitar is solid, no creeks cracks flaws, its ALL GOOD.

EZ-Play Martin Sigma DM-1STCE

Review By:

Zager Guitars
Price:
$500.00 USD
Features:
This is a Martin-Sigma DM-1StCE, modified with Dennis Zager's EZ-Play String Science. It is a 14 fret, Venetian cutaway design with a built-in transducer and gloss finish.  The nut and saddle are both hand-carved.  The bridge is rosewood.  The tuners are Grover.  The top is solid spruce, the back and sides are mahogany. The guitar came strung with Martin strings, and several freebies were thrown in with my purchase: A free set of Martin strings, a T-shirt, and a couple of Martin picks.
Action, Fit, & Finish:
This guitar has been modified with Denny Zager's String Science, which quickens the action.  Even after spending several days in UPS transit, this guitar had no flaws.  After some minor tuning, it played great right out of the box.
Sound Quality:
I really like the sound of this guitar.  It sounds rich and full, and is much louder than other guitars I have played.  There is not string buzz.
Reliability/Durability:
I have had this guitar for less than a week, so I cannot speak of its durability.  However, being that it is a Martin, I anticipate it being top-notch.  It certainly seems to be quite dependable.
Ease of Use:
Customer Support:
My interaction with Zager Guitars has been tremendous.  I ordered my guitar in the week between Christmas and New Years, which is a time that it is normally impossible to get any kind of assitance from most companies.  However, my emails have been answered quickly.  Their return policy is essentially, "If you don't like it, send it back for a full refund".  I know of no other manufacturer with such a policy.  The warranty is equally impressive, in that it is for life.  Can't get any better than that.
Overall Rating:
If this guitar were to be stolen or destroyed, I would quickly buy another just like it.  I have played a friend's Martin, a guitar that cost several thousand dollars.  I would not trade mine for his. There is nothing that I do not like about this guitar.  My favorite feature is the strings being spaced out a little more than normal.  This allows me to accurately finger several chords that I am not able to finger with my other guitar.

Features:
the guitar is a  Sigma by Martin set up beautifully by Zager Guitars using the E-Z play modifications to nut and bridge to make the guitar so easy to play.  and it sounds great. Single cutaway , great access to upper frets, but the main thing is the ease of playing all over the neck. The finish is glossy and overall the guitar looks and plays superbly. The guitar leaves Zager in ready to play condition. No buzzing, clean, and ready to go ! I plugged it in my small practice amp and it sounds great. I'm very pleased !
Action, Fit, & Finish:
this is where the Zager shines. A pleasure to play.
Sound Quality:
played acoustically it's volume and tone is comparable or better to higher priced guitars especially those Martin acoustic electrics that are in the $699 range(and the ZAGER is all wood !), I will use it as a home guitar as my main (and only) acoustic. At gigs when it's time to bring it down and play some acoustic tunes this will be my guitar to play. At a price of $495 I feel this guitar saved me over $200 and the best thing about it is the ease of playability !
Reliability/Durability:
well I just got it and it will be used at gigs starting next month in January. I can't wait to try it in a live setting. It seems made to last and above all ez to play !
Ease of Use:
Customer Support:
I have no doubts in this area. Zager Guitars are a customer friendly company and between Denny and his knowlegable staff and they're extensive website which has any question you can imagine answered and demonstration videos, any questions i have I KNOW they will answer quick because they care about customer support. The've been great with my inquiries!
Overall Rating:
I've been playing for 30 years. Electric and acoustic. This is the perfect guitar for me and i compared it to my band buddy's Martin Acoustic Electric the one with the non wood sides and back, and neck and it 's tone sounds better to me and it plays a lot easier, and plugged in sounds just as good. So i feel i saved $200. Again it's the feel of the neck to me and thats why i'm glad i found Zager online. If I lost this guitar I'd be on the phone to Zager and get another one. At this price you really have a nice guitar that plays and sounds like it's higher priced cousins.

The Zager guitars are taken apart and put back together by Denny Zager himself. By lowering the strings they are much easier to play. I looked at many guitars before buying the Zager Guitar. I' very pleased.
Action, Fit, & Finish:
The guitar was set up great. That's the best thing with the Zager guitars.
Sound Quality:
The guitar has a rich / full sound.
Reliability/Durability:
I think the guitar will last a long time. The finish is durable and beautiful.
Ease of Use:
Customer Support:
I have dealt by e-mail numerous times. They always answer within 12 hours.
Overall Rating:
I have been playing for 30 years. I also own a Mosrite Mark 5, Ventures Model. I would definately purchase this guitar again. I love the light touch to depress the strings, very easy on the fingures. I compared this guitar to Martin and Gibson. I chose this one because it played so easily. I have been very pleased with the customer service.

Great action right out of the box, lot of range with the onboard EQ, typical Martin fit and finish, all quality hardware, this has to be the best value on the market.
Action, Fit, & Finish:
Great fit and finish, quality componets, i played this right out of the box and have not had to make any adjustments at all, ( very rare for me)
Sound Quality:
I play this thru a vintage Fender Deluxe tube amp and also a Trace Elliot acoustic amp and also unpuggled, very mellow tone but can be brightened up with the onboard EQ
Reliability/Durability:
Ease of Use:
Customer Support:
As i have had no issues with this guitar i can not honestly say anything about their service,
Overall Rating:
I have been playing on and off for 30 years and have a 65 Gibson SG a 95 Taylor 518CE, I must say my favorite feature of this guitar is the action it took a lighter touch on the fret board and made my playing a lot more natural, Many of my friends have played this guitar and are very impressed with the action and the price and i have had to put a stop on these friends borrowing it all the time. I have never written a product endorsment for anything before but i had to share this with foks that are looking for a great alternitive to the other higher priced quality instruments
