I'd bought mine in the 90's, and it still sounds just perfect. Mine is made in Utah, USA.  The sound is extremely much better than the cheap equalizers that makes boss. I use two guitars, a Strat and a Epiphone Les Paul. My amp is a Fender Hot Rod DeVille (212), and i run all my effects into the effects loop of my amp, and i use distortion from my amp. PEOPLE... IF YOU WANT TO GET THE BEST SOUND OUT OF THIS PEDAL, PLEASE CONNECT IT INTO THE FX LOOP OF YOUR AMP. (is up to you)
Reliability/Durability:
I only had to repair a slider. But all is in perfect condition.
Ease of Use:
This is a typic eq pedal, but the only problem for some people is the Male AC jack, but i have a DC BRICK and luckily this come with 3 cables with male/male cable, so this wasn't a problem for me.

I play all kind of music, and this pedal is extremely versatile. If you have the change to get one on ebay, please get it.

I'm using a 1982  Les Paul custom with Burst bucker puck ups, thru a Planet waves tuner,Fulltone Clyde Deluxe, fulltone Full drive II,Fulltone Deja Vibe,MXR Phase 100,Pearl chorus and a Pearl Delay(old school!) I ran the eq at the end of the chain into a Marshall blues breaker. Not much problems as far as noise plus I didn't max any of the perimeters,but.....see below
Reliability/Durability:
The Switch was stuck in the "on" from the get go,meaning  you left it  on all the time. That was useless to me in  a live setting  as I did like the improvements it made ,giving a nice clean boost for solos and melody lines, but I do reqiure an option without Crushing my pedal board to shit it off, I had a tech geek open it up ,clean any gunk out of it,but still no luck,I assume any DOd pedal have a similar footswitch so they must go bad after any extended normal use. I used it last week but it never got used, seeing someone stomping like mad doesnt come across very professional for some reason......
Ease of Use:
Basic Equalizer,a no brainer there 7 bands does give you a bit more which is helpful. Maunel was 1 sheet I printed on line.

Ive been playing for close to 30 years and have gone through a lot of gear. I mostly playing classic rock, blues and Classic metal. I hope someone steals it but since I'll never gig with it no luck there. So i'll be looking for something compatible to the rest of my effects. for the price I cant bitch too much but still I needed it to work.

i guess the sound wasnt horrible but i didnt blow me away. i have a dod fx90 delay echo that is great. i love that thing. the delay echo i get from it is awesome. but with that said this thing was a big downer. it added a lot of highs and didnt distort much really. so the sound wasnt that bad. but i really think that if you spend money on a decent pickup and amp that you wont need a cheap piece of shit like this. im sure though that if you have a lot of effects in your chain you might need one. but this pedal wasnt worth the time or money.
Reliability/Durability:
junk, plastic shit. the slider bust off if you even look at them. the stompswitch gets fucked up easy. this thing is a plastic mistake. if you find one in good condition than it is lucky it made it this far. this is the worst feature for sure.
Ease of Use:
Kind of difficult to get the sound you want, i mean its not rocket science but if you dont know what you are doing than it kind of takes a long time to understand equalizers. but if you know about this stuff than im sure its pretty easy.

i dont know man, i hate ripping on pedals because i feel all pedals have some sort of worth and after ready all the good reviews on this pedal i decided to try it out. i bought it for 25 bucks so it was a good cheap way to try out an equalizer just to get a feel for them. but man if you really want an eq and know how they work, pay 20 more dollars for an mxr or boss ge7 that wont fall apart on you. the more money you pay for effects pedals the better they will be and the happier you will be. i like dod. some people dont. i love my fx90. but this thing blows really bad. dont listen to these other reviews and save a little extra cash for a better non plastic one.

did i mention the sliders are sensitive? seems like the eq works well controlling low , mid & high ranges...not some bum lifeless sliders on an eq pedal like ive saw before... hisses when on & you arent playing...you can hear it wanting to break out of the silence & scream in your ears...turn it off & its fine with no noise at all... I use it as a boost for the most...Runs in front of amp...havent even tried the loop with it....
Reliability/Durability:
no probs... well built... Ive never read much about dod electronics going to crap...they have a lot of life in them....if yours sucks, then take it to a tech who can help you get it working properly...
Ease of Use:
easy to use> sliders are sensitive...great frequency shaping... on/off switch works fine
Customer Support:
? id prolly trash it before id call & put up with automated phone shit , or to sit around while some monkey fingers his ass trying to decide what to do with my pedal for 3 or 4 weeks....heh...id buy another on ebay for the price to ship it to these fucks & have it hooked in my line within 5 days....lmfao !! customer support always sucks....dont matter who they are
Overall Rating:
get one... for what it is...theres not much else that can beat it...not like ive tried a bunch...for what youd want in an eq pedal , this one gives satisfaction in its purpose... heck , get 2 of them & give one to me so I'll have a backup... Im a pedal whore....& thats that.... in regard to a lot of ratings here at harmony central effects database...theres a lot of you fucktards that dont know your head from a hole in the ground when it comes to rating some of these pedals...no offense meant...just saying some of you (& you know who you are) need to sit down & shut the fuck up about reviews...your moronic shit could mislead others when they're researching to buy new pedals...idiot fucks....

Sounds fine. Don't tweak the Freq. bands to high or you will clip your amp & whatever else is after it.
Reliability/Durability:
Had my 2 Years with no break down. I don't abuse it either. Break those plastic sliders and your screwed. the pedal case is like steel or something, this pedal should be as tough as they get, just don't step on those plastic slides
Ease of Use:
the unit takes some time to figure out how your V, W, shapes etc. affect your tone. It becomes an algebraic equation. I think this pedal required more thought on tweaking than your average effects pedal ie. chorus, distortion, & delays. But thats no different than any EQ pedal. The main thing about this pedal (DOD FX 40B)at least on mine is it requires A MALE A/C PLUG  *%#+  This proved to be Quite the challenge! I had to splice my daisy chain, go to radio shack, take the pedal with me, find the right MALE JACK *%#? and splice it into my daisy chain. WHAT A PAIN!!! Therefore I rate it a 3 on ease of ab-use

Played 30+ years, I love the price and HATE THE MALE A/C JACK! #*^$ Other than that it does what an EQ does
