Purchased From:
Retro FX Pedals.... Direct...
Price:
$51.00 USD
Features:
Sound Quality:
I'm using a 1982 Les Paul custom with Burst bucker puck ups, thru a Planet waves tuner FoxxRoxx Octron,Fulltone Clyde Deluxe,Fulltone Full drive II,Fulltone Deja Vibe,MXR Phase 100,Pearl Chorus and a Pearl Delay(old school!),Retro FX CLASSIC COMPRESSOR ROSS CLONE,and a MXR Kerry King 10 band EQ into a Marshall blues breaker. This doesn't get used that much but has a very noticeable "white noise" so it can only be used on loud passages playing live. Does give an effective sustain if you can deal with the noise. Its more of a "clean boost with high noise". I typically just hit the EQ and I have a actual clean boost despite what ever other pedal is on.
Reliability/Durability:
Its a basic generic made from a kit pedal, since its not really getting used that much. Doubtful it will need to be replaced and a back up ever needed.
Ease of Use:
2 knobs Sustain & Level no brainer there.
Customer Support:
Don't even go there.... Got it "direct from the manufacturer" off of ebay ,paypaled /won the auction on 1/6/08. Got an email and was told it was mailed on 1/9/08.Ok, all good. No show for a while so I send another email or two mentioning I would have to consider filling a paypal dispute. "They" replied back on 1/18 .That it will be mailed out pronto, meaning it was never mailed when I was originally told.It shows up a week later,10 bucks priority shipping(that takes 3 days anywhere in the country)It such a lightweight pedal ,weighs less than a pound ,so they make another 5 bucks overcharging for shipping. I left them a "neutral" feedback since it finally showed up. If you look at their feedback you can see others where not so thoughtful .. I try to use as many handmade pedals as possible but guys like this really leave a bad taste in my mouth with nonexsistant customer service. Next time I'll just buy a BYOC kit and do it myself,
Overall Rating:
I've been playing for 30 years .playing rock, blues and metal. I'm a gear junkie of the typical sort.20 odd guitar 4 different amps, you know the deal. If something happens,oh well ,read above.I can't imagine getting it repaired by these guys nor would I ever consider any of their other products in the future. Its a basic, generic "kit" with a decal on it . Like I said if anything it encouraged me to want to next time just build my own,so that the one thing I'm grateful of.
