Sound Quality:
Excellent vintage effects box from Guyatone. Great range of sounds from this and that real vintage vibe. This Guyatone flanger creates a variety of wild sounds from dynamic jet plane or cool space effects to short delay, chorus and vibrato. You can get those Van Hallen sounds from it so easy and is so similar to the Origional MXR 117 Flanger. I think that`s what Guyatone were doing here with this pedal but the great thing they done with this pedal is that it is able to run on 2 x 9 volt batteries or mains adapter where as the origional MXR Flanger was only powered by a Mains cable. Marvellous pedal.
Reliability/Durability:
Never let me down!
Ease of Use:
It has 4 controls, Speed controls the speed/rate of the LFO waves that control the flanger Range controls the depth of the LFO waves that control the flanger Manual controls the center amount of shift Color controls the amount of feedback/resonance Analog vintage Flanger This is a solid metal construction, runs on mains adapter as well as 2 9v batteries.

Overall Rating:
I Play mostly heavy old school rock and blues, using Marshall jcm 800 and fender twin and a peavey classic 30. this pedal sounds great with all these amps, i have compared it with an MXR and couldn`t really tell the difference, an analog Flanger with 4 controls what more do you need. If it was lost or stolen i would try to find another second hand, failing that an MXR 117. i don`t know what the MXR M117R or van hallen ones sound like so i couldn`t comment on the reissues.
