christoph p¿¿chel runs fx sounddesign in berlin and he can hear the grass grow. he has searched the boss od-1 and appears to be the german 'od-1 pope'. he offers mods for sd-1 to od-1 and a mod which changes the later od-1 versions to the sound of the older models with the 14pin op-amp while keeping the standard 8pin op's. i sent him my boss od-1 and he changed it to the thicker vintagetone. i asked him to get me some more bass and deep mids and he returned me a pedal that works to my needs 100% !
Reliability/Durability:
the mod looks very good, boss pedals didn't let me down in the last 30 years.

http://www.fx-sounddesign.de christoph p¿¿chel is a very competent and nice person who reacted to my needs and questions in the most desirable manner. i had a special task as i wanted to have more bone to the od-1 and he could offer me several possibilities! fantastic communication all the way. i really can't ask for more.
Overall Rating:
i play rock, pop, blues and soul stuff. the boss od-1 was a sterile and tinny piece of crap compared to the pedal i own now. great as a stand-alone overdrive AND for kicking tubeamps now.
