  • Zaxcom Announces New Stereo Adaptor For TRX900/TRX900AA and ZFR100 Audio Recording Systems

    By Guest |

Zaxcom today announced that the company is shipping a brand-new stereo adapter interface for its popular wireless recording systems. The new STA100 plugs directly into the company's TRX900/TRX900AA digital wireless transmitters or ZFR100 recorder, allowing users to transform their existing single-channel system into a two-channel device. This new product is ideal for instantly creating a sound bag-to-camera link.

"We're very pleased to begin shipping the new interface to our customers," said Glenn Sanders, president of Zaxcom. "The STA100 provides two balanced audio inputs, which eliminate the ground loop problems typically experienced when using wireless transmitters in sound bag configurations."

The STA100 includes a dedicated time code input feature that allows users to synchronize their camera to the internal time code generator of the TRX900/TRX900AA or ZFR100. This feature also supports auto-loading of audio directly to the system's integrated memory card. The auto-load mode ensures that audio recorded on the TRX900/TRX900AA or ZFR100 exactly matches the video.

Zaxcom's new interface also includes a software-selectable output connector that can act either as a monitoring function for playback of audio or as a time code output for jamming other devices. The STA100 includes an external power input for connection to a 12-volt external power source. The unit weighs 2 oz. and has a compact profile of just 1" by 0.8" by 3".

The company's wireless systems — including the TRX900 and TRX900AA wireless microphone transceivers and ZFR100 recorder — are engineered for use in professional television broadcast, film, theater, concert, and presentation applications where reliability and mobility are required.
