    New for Summer NAMM 2001, the Yamaha AEX500NS guitar delivers authentic nylon string sound in a streamlined instrument that is sure to appeal to electric guitarists. Boasting a new multi-cavity body design and Yamaha's proven pickup and preamp system, this latest nylon string electric guitar produces outstanding tone in a package that's easy to live with.

    "Nylon string guitars sound great, but some electric players find them intimidating," explains David Bergstrom, director of marketing, Combo Group, Pro Audio & Combo Division. "The AEX500NS offers the comfort and feel that electric players crave, plus a unique tone they won't find anywhere else."

    With a Spruce top, Alder body and Maple neck with a Rosewood fingerboard, the single cutaway AEX500NS boasts the premium construction that has made Yamaha electrics famous worldwide. Wood knobs, gold tuners, and a choice of black or natural finishes lend the instrument a touch of class and elegance.

    The real story is inside the guitar. A multi-cavity body yields a rich, deep sound that belies the fact that this guitar is an electric instrument. Powered by a Yamaha piezo bridge pickup system with master volume and tone controls, the AEX500NS can cover a range of territoryfrom Latin to Pop to Jazz and beyond.
