    By Guest |

X2 Digital Wireless, Inc. today announced the release of the XDS95, a digital wireless system for musical instrument applications featuring the company's patent-pending TruDIGITAL™ technology.

The XDS95 utilizes 24-bit digital converters and is notably free from companders for unprecedented sound quality. Performance is comparable to that of a direct wire connection. By operating in the Frequency-Clear™ 900MHz band, the system is free from HDTV interference and FCC licensing concerns. System components operate approximately eight hours on a single 9V Alkaline battery and house all antennae internally.

Made in the USA, the XDS95 is compatible with existing amplifiers, mixing, and recording devices for unprecedented wireless versatility for performing musicians. The system will be available January, 2007. Prices start at $499, MSRP.

"By combining 24-bit digital companderless technology and battery operated components that are free from any external antennas, we've designed an application-specific instrument wireless system that's perfectly suited for small to medium-venue live performance and recording applications. Now, performing and recording musicians can free themselves from the confines of cables without sacrificing their tone or worrying about HDTV interference and FCC licensing concerns," said Guy Coker, CEO of X2.

The XDS95's specifications and features include 24-bit digital conversion yielding 117 dB dynamic range; frequency response from 20 Hz to 12 KHz for thundering lows and expressive highs; complete elimination of compander ICs and their associated negative side-effects; internally mounted antennas on all components; 1/4" stereo output for instrument and full-bandwidth or 'tuner out' applications; five user-selectable channels allows up to five systems to operate simultaneously free from any adjacent channel crosstalk. X2's exclusive patent-pending TruDIGITAL™ format includes a proprietary digital key that locks out all other RF (radio frequency) interference. 10mw transmission power in the 900 MHZ band provide substantial performance range (greater than 150 foot line of sight - depending on environment) as well as freedom from HDTV broadcast and FCC licensing concerns.

The receiver's control surface is recessed into its' unique 'effects pedal' styled chassis making it a perfect addition to any pedalboard and a welcome travel companion for musicians on the go. The five-segment LED display features blue/red dual-color LED's which helps to prevent "washout" due to intense lighting during indoor and outdoor performances, and conveniently displays power status, RF channel, data reception and automatically shows audio level during performance and remaining battery life when idle. A unique DigiScan™ mode assists in selecting the best frequency. Additionally, each component will operate approximately eight hours on a single 9V Alkaline battery.

The XDS95 is incredibly easy to set up and operate. Simply connect, power on, select the operating channel, and the system is ready. All antennas are located inside the components eliminating the hazards of protruding antennas and the dilemmas of breakage or loss. The system is suitable for a wide variety of live performance and music recording applications and is covered by a limited two-year warranty.
