Sound Sculpture announces the release of the WinBlade 2 Windows based programming environment for the Sound Sculpture line of Switchblade audio routing systems.

This all new release is a complete re-design of the original WinBlade and features the most powerful interface yet for designing and downloading presets to the Switchblade. With WinBlade 2 the user can quickly connect signal processors, instruments and amplifiers using an icon based worksurface. Gain levels between devices can be quickly set by clicking on patches and moving a gain slider.

Connections in the Switchblade are made in real time so audio can be monitored as presets are created. When the preset is complete, pressing a single button downloads it to any of the non-volatile preset spaces in the Switchblade for stand alone use.

Up to 1000 presets per file can be created and organized into groups, named with long names and randomly accessed using the Preset Tree. Connections can either be set to fixed gains or can be assigned start/end gains and assigned to one of two sliders allowing for scalable continuous control. The sliders may also be operated from external MIDI foot controllers for hands off testing of presets.

Audio levels can be monitored on a patch by patch basis using the VU meter on the control panel. The Switchblade footswitch simulators and MIDI Program Change burst functions can also be programmed from the control panel.

WinBlade is a companion product to the Switchblade family of audio routing systems including the Switchblade-GL 16 by 16 matrix with balanced I/O, the Switchblade-8B with an 8 by 8 matrix and balanced I/O and the Switchblade 8 with unbalanced I/O. Each Switchblade features simple front panel programming, true matrix design for both parallel and series connections of signal processors, and exceptional signal quality making it the perfect audio router for both guitar and studio effect racks.

WinBlade is available free of charge from the Sound Sculpture website.
