Westlake Audio is featuring the Lc3w12V Monitor Speaker System at this year's AES Convention. The Lc3w12V is housed in a bass-reflex enclosure, and offers extensive electro-mechanical-acoustical dampening and integrated passive crossover for single or bi-amp operation.

Designed as an alternative to the successful horizontal version, the Lc3w12V system has been created to meet the demands of multi-channel operations, explains Ken Centofante, sales and marketing director for Westlake Audio. "In many ways the vertical design actually surpasses its counterpart when it comes to the needs of a multi-channel studio. For L-C-R use, it's essential that the monitor speakers are symmetrically designed, which Westlake has done with the Lc3w12V. It's the perfect fit for small- to mid-size control rooms."

The Lc3w12V (14.5"W x 29.5"H x 15.5"D) comprises a 12-inch woofer, a 6.5-inch midrange and a one-inch soft dome tweeter with 100/300 LF, 100/250 MF and 90/220 HF per IEC 268-5 power handling capacity and sensitivity of 91dB @ 1M for 2.83V input. The Lc3w12V's frequency response is rated at 40Hz-18kHz with an impedance level of 4 ohms nominal/3 ohms minimum. Amplifier inputs are dual-banana, five-way binding posts with bi-wire/bi-amp capability.

At 102 pounds, the Lc3w12V comes finished in black utility paint and includes a one-year warranty. Accessories available include metal speaker stands, speaker muffs and custom speaker cables.
