  • Wendler Instruments Introduces KW ElectroCoustic Guitar

    By Guest |

Wendler Instruments has introduced the new KW model electroCoustic guitar. This instrument is aimed specifically at the country roadhouse guitarist. The addition of the most traditional single coil pickup design to the resonant and highly responsive red cedar body, allows the widest range of clean spanky tones imaginable. From "Chickin Pickin" through "Western Swing" and "Tennesee Flattop Box" through shifting gears in your KW over-the-road hauler. This lightweight, resonant guitar will fill the dance floor.

Wendler started with a double carved, western red cedar body, cut from a single billet of lumber. Add a wide, comfortable maple neck with a pao ferro board, and you have the makings of a 5 lb. guitar you can wear all night.

Wendler's "MagPi" system will transmit a pure acoustic sound that even the most delicate ears will fall for, and then switch immediately to a full flavored, big body arch top jazz tone.

But the real cajones show when you center that five speed shifter (located conveniently on the south side of the pick guard) and shift into "truck driving" mode. Double clutch and hit the throttle, it's twangkiness at it's best, ballsy, grinding and fat, with the ability to take just enough edge off the top to save your high frequency hearing, but only if you want to.

Wendler has been working on this project for over a year, finding just the right single coil pickup, and designing a mounting system that will do it justice( note the "reverse" angle of the lead pickup). The result is a highly versatile guitar, with a price tag that any truck driving musician can afford. And, to top it off, the instrument has totally passive electronics, and are as simple as the "plank" guitars that inspired it.
