  • Waves Audio Presents Tour Featuring Multi-Platinum Engineer Tony Maserati

    By Guest |

Waves Audio announces the latest in its series of educational events, a tour featuring appearances by Tony Maserati, a GRAMMY® Award-winning, multi-platinum producer/engineer/mix engineer for countless R&B, hip-hop and pop hits. The tour, entitled "In the Multi-Platinum Mix with Tony Maserati," will offer an intimate face-to-face with Maserati, where he'll be sharing his studio techniques and approach to mixing. Throughout the spring, the tour will take Maserati and the Waves crew to several cities across North America, including an appearance at L.A.'s historic Village Recording Studios. Latest tour date updates and news are available online.

Over the course of his career, Tony Maserati has been behind the board for some of the biggest names in pop, hip-hop and R&B. With over 250 releases under his belt, he is widely regarded as a primary architect of the sounds associated with New York R&B production since the mid-90s. His resume is extensive: Beyoncé, Black Eyed Peas, Jason Mraz, Mary J. Blige, David Bowie, 2Pac, Britney Spears, John Legend and many more have all turned to Maserati for his magic touch. With the "In the Multi-Platinum Mix" tour and The Tony Maserati Collection of Waves plug-ins, users and attendees are given a fast track to Maserati's hit sound.

Together with Waves Product Specialists, Tony will demonstrate his use of Waves plug-ins, including The Tony Maserati Collection, a revolutionary set of new plug-ins developed in collaboration with Waves. Maserati worked closely with the Waves R&D team to create this collection of six application-specific plug-ins that precisely capture Maserati's personal production, engineering and mixing style and his trademark sound.

The Tony Maserati Collection is a unique, new kind of plug-in bundle — a shortcut to Tony's sound. What makes the Tony Maserati Collection revolutionary is that users don't need to deal with traditional processor parameters such as "attack and release time" or "threshold" to get a great sound. They don't even need to know what these terms mean. Users will also be spared from relying on multiple plug-ins per track. For aspiring and professional mixing engineers alike, this collection represents the fastest way to get a great sounding mix — with Waves' quality processors and Tony Maserati's aesthetic.

At each tour appearance, Maserati will reveal the secrets behind the rich vocals sounds of Alicia Keys, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera; the massive bass of Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige and the Notorious B.I.G.; the slamming beats of Sean Paul, Usher and 2Pac; and much more. Maserati will bring a session of a well-known artist to each event, to offer a unique glimpse into his decision-making process, unveiling the way he approaches a mix.

Maserati says, "This is a great opportunity. I'm looking forward to sharing my studio techniques with up-and-coming engineers, producers and songwriters. It's going to be a blast."
