Epiphone's SG-shaped Vintage G-400 guitar is the first in a new line of solidbody electric models with the well-worn look and feel of a favorite guitar.
"The Vintage G-400 has its own unique vintage vibe but it's the opposite of one of those pristine, look-but-don't-touch collectibles," said Jim "Epi" Rosenberg, president of Epiphone. "This is like the guitar that's always on the stage or on a stand beside your bed, the one you pick up and play night after night. It's a guitar with built-in soul."
The Vintage Series' well-traveled look has an advantage when it comes to maintenance: The satin finish and "aged" inlays on the fingerboard require less cosmetic care than guitars with a glossy finish and new-looking inlays.
The G-400 model comes in Worn Cherry and Worn Brown finishes that showcase the wood grain (similar to Gibson's popular Faded series). It has a one-piece neck with super satin finish, humbucker pickups, chrome hardware and tune-o-matic bridge.
