Behringer announced two new box-type powered mixers, EUROPOWER PMX660M (USD 309.99 MSRP) and EUROPOWER PMX880S (USD 439.99 MSRP). These compact 2 x 300-Watt (PMX660M) and 2 x 400-Watt (PMX880S) mixers feature Behringer's CoolAudio technology that delivers power while sporting a super-light form factor that has nearly half the depth and weight of conventional powered mixers. All powered mixers are expected to ship in the first quarter of 2004.

The PMX660M's 8-channel mixer section is comprised of 6 mono channels with mic preamps with switchable +48 V phantom power for condenser microphones, plus separate tape returns. The 10-channel mixer section on the PMX880S is comprised of 6 mono and 2 stereo channels with separate tape returns. The PMX880S features 2 independent 24-bit stereo FX processors with 99 VIRTUALIZER presets including reverbs, delays, chorus, flanger and more. In addition, there are 3-band EQs, switchable pad and clip LEDs on all mono channels as well as 7-band graphic EQs for precise frequency correction of monitor and main outputs. A special Voice Canceller function removes singer's voice from recordings for Karaoke applications.

Both mixers also feature a pioneering FBQ Feedback Detection System that instantly reveals critical frequencies for easy feedback removal. A Speaker Processing function adjusts frequency response to match speaker systems, while a standby switch mutes all input channels during breaks while background music is provided via tape inputs.
